At long last the moment of next decisions has arrived. I , like many, am concerned about the initial issues that will inevitably be worked out eventually. Hopefully by the time mine arrives? I haven’t accepted yet so don’t know the estimated window. My head is still a bit spinning from seeing this in my inbox.

I just got the same invite at 112840... Also did not expect it. I guess that means around 80k people before me have passed on it. I think I am going to do the same. I am very concerned about the range and being an early adopter.

For what it's worth my invite still says delivery on the AWD between January and March. Beast says by mid-late 2024.

What do you think you're going to do? I personally don't want FSD so don't see any value in that being included in the Foundation. There is no timeline whatsoever on when it will be ready. Beta 12 is apparently a step back in some ways. I'm not willing to pay up front, I'll be happy to pay monthly if and when it's ever released.

Day 2 for me. This sucks but I can't justify $100k for this truck in its current form - which is what we're going to be getting if delivery is before March. I'll think about it overnight.

Am I the only one that is starting to suspect Foundation Series is a scam? It seems to me it is just a way of forcing anyone that wants to be first in line to pay for very expensive stuff we otherwise wouldn't pay for. FSD for $12,000, hell no. Bi-directional charging at home, cool but not interested. But here we are, forced to pay for it. And here is the kicker. We are paying for it AND NOT EVEN GETTING IT. FSD isn't active and for all we know, it could take years before they add it to CT. I get the feeling the Foundation Series isn't going to be limited at all. They will make a ton of them and milk everyone one of us for every extra penny and we will all be on here two years from now discussing the rumor that FSD is right around the corner.

I agree with everything you are all saying. Day 2 reservation. I still have $1,000 at Rivian and they’ve been bugging me to configure that.
For context, I will use the truck as lifestyle vehicle. Daily driver, deer hunting, hauling my E bike and quad (rip cyberquad), occasionally my 14ft aluminum fishing boat.
I am still going to test drive Rivian in NY and go next door to look from a far at the cybertruck in the showroom. Now they both have $1grand of mine and only one is refundable at this point.

I do really hate the fact that the $7k FSD we all expected was a given lock in is being overridden by this FS situation.
I do not qualify for the $7,500 rebate unfortunately so that is not an issue in the cost differential btw
