I got an invite today as did my brother. We're both second day-ers. I'm in Atlanta and he's in KC. I want to pass because I don't care about the FS, just want a basic dual.

My question is....if I pass on the FS, do I lose my place in line? Any thoughts?
I don't think you lose your place based on what I've seen others say but have no way of knowing for sure!

What's your RN?
RN11284xxxx?

It will be very interesting to see how deep into the reservations Tesla will go with foundation invites before trying a new strategy. I have no clue. Hopefully not long enough for my popcorn to run out?
Maybe all of them? Haha. After all, it is an easy +$20k for Tesla and all they have to do is screw all of us over by letting people essentially buy their way to the front of the line.

Same here, received the foundation series order invite today. Hard pass.
Day 2 reservation for DM and huge fan of the Cybertruck, but no way I can justify that price.

I plunked the $1k down but give it a 50/50 chance I will eat it. I chose the Beast to give a little more time (and that is really what I wanted anyway - I regretted passing on the performance upgrade when I got the M3). Yeah $1000 is a lot to burn but <1% earnest money is really not that bad.

If I didn't already have a Lightning (which I like) there would be no question and I would for sure take delivery but it feels like I am breaking up with a solid girlfriend to date a high-maintenance super-model. Will probably regret it, but my tech-libido will not be silenced.

Got mine today too. In Maryland and reserved a dual motor. Was a day 3 reservation. I am going to hold out. Originally a dual motor was $50k. this foundation is $100k.

Am I the only one that is starting to suspect Foundation Series is a scam? It seems to me it is just a way of forcing anyone that wants to be first in line to pay for very expensive stuff we otherwise wouldn't pay for. FSD for $12,000, hell no. Bi-directional charging at home, cool but not interested. But here we are, forced to pay for it. And here is the kicker. We are paying for it AND NOT EVEN GETTING IT. FSD isn't active and for all we know, it could take years before they add it to CT. I get the feeling the Foundation Series isn't going to be limited at all. They will make a ton of them and milk everyone one of us for every extra penny and we will all be on here two years from now discussing the rumor that FSD is right around the corner.
Nope you are not. I didn't want the truck until the summer as i wanted to get as much info about how it's built and it's issues and just a couple of weeks in I'm not impressed. Yes the stuff i have an issue with like the range, Panel gaps, vault water leaks, Cost, payload, repairability, Tow rating, Power share equipment and install, Tire options etc etc are starting to be big negatives. The addition of 4 wheel steer is great and that's a feature i would use but 6+ negatives right now are much more off putting than having 4ws.

Ya. If someone had zero intentions of purchasing upgraded wheels, charger, no directional and FSD, then it is a lot of wasted money. If you would have purchased those anyway, as I think many would, it’s really not that much of a premium. That said it does blow that there is no choice and such abysmal communication from Tesla.

Agreed. The lack of transparency has started to really bother me. I am all in on Cybertruck and have been looking forward to placing my order for 4 years. But I don’t know. Every time I read another post about range, charge time, foundation series limitless endpoint…it makes me second guess my intention of diving in head first.

No it clearly says Jan to march 2024
I just don't see it, with the number of invites going out they must expect a fairly quick ramp-up. I think there are going to be a lot of disappointed people come Mar. 31st.

You may not be the only one, but it definitely is not a scam.

There is NO indication that a FS purchase will not be receiving the equipment, only the "up to $4k installation assistance)
When the Cybertruck was introduced, the FSD beta didn't even exist. And it be available in only months.

The FS series is a "fully equipped vehicle" with additional badging and colors for those who want it.

If you don't want to pay for everything, then you maintain your place in line.

It's pretty simple and not an uncommon practice.

I got mine today as well. I ordered on day 1 RN112837057. I'm in a pickle. I'm not sure the Beast is worth it. 16K for 1.5 secs faster to 60 MPH? That is the diff. And of course, less payload with a third motor and slightly less battery. What do you all think?

I certainly did not expect it yet. In CT 11283….
At long last the moment of next decisions has arrived. I , like many, am concerned about the initial issues that will inevitably be worked out eventually. Hopefully by the time mine arrives? I haven’t accepted yet so don’t know the estimated window. My head is still a bit spinning from seeing this in my inbox.
Congrats and don't mind the FUD generators here who bash everything and everyone who is excited about the vehicle.
