Because when it comes to delivery priority, “employee” has been merely shorthand for essentially “friends and family, broadly speaking.”

Fair point! No direct or indirect relation to Tesla but I do have a small YouTube channel that I do discuss Tesla on in addition to other tech topics. Thanks to this I also was able to take part in the Delivery event in Austin due to the referral rewards.

Thank you! So oddly I actually never even received it. That was actually a big selling point on me deciding on the FS so currently I’m actually still in the dark about that.

Yup exactly...I went through this when i ordered my Model S refresh in 2021...there was simply no rhyme or reason to who got it when...same here and same with all new products it seems lol

i think there’s a preponderance of rhyme and reason, just that it’s so multi-factorial there’s no one- two- or three-factor matrix by which a person can accurately predict

but we’ve seen Tesla give order invitations to even minor $TSLA/CT xwitter influencers who have RNs that are WAY out, etc. Among the factors being weighed (but not alone determinative?) are folks who are known ‘friendlies’ with a resulting marketing/spin advantage to Tesla.

but we’ve seen Tesla give order invitations to even minor $TSLA/CT xwitter influencers who have RNs that are WAY out, etc. Among the factors being weighed (but not alone determinative?) are folks who are known ‘friendlies’ with a resulting marketing/spin advantage to Tesla.

This is literally one of the biggest pieces and why I’m excited to get the truck soon! I want to do some videos on non freezing weather drives for range and truly just driving it with a mix of highway and city. Hopefully to help alleviate some others concerns…or to reaffirm them hahah

oh sure, all these things plus others combined

for example, they aren’t going to load only a single CT and send it to FL just because your individual “qualifications” put you ripe for a delivery

They’ll look to fill a transport of you plus 7ish other people who also have some combination of individual-qualification.



For individuals, there could be a list of two dozen qualifying features, each weighted differently, upon which some prioritization at the individual level is made. And THEN overlaying that are the supply chain/last mile delivery considerations.

Which all combine for a resulting VIN allocation / delivery pattern that from the outside looks vaguely random.

But suffices to say, that somewhere in that list, is obviously some non-trivial weighting towards individuals that are known friendlies with social media presence and Tesla content.

It’s basic psy-ops.

I’m near Ft Myers, FL. Babcock Ranch. No affiliation with Tesla or any of Elon’s companies and no real social media presence. They asked for payment in full and I complied but the app is not letting me set delivery date or review agreements.
