Yeah I’m not making any final payment until I see a VIN and delivery date. Not happy they offered me 70k below sticker for a 2 year old car.

Were you disappointed with the trade-in value? Same situation here, the offer I got was less that 50% of purchasing price while my MX car is only 18 months old with 15K miles on it. I was told by Tesla that trade-in requests go to auction sites. So no different then when you try selling online at Carvana, Carmax, Driveo, etc. Same low offers—the Tesla used car market seems broken
Like you, Tesla offered me about half what I paid for my Ford Lightning 1 year ago. Carmax offered $10K above Tesla's offer, though. I rejected both - I still need the truck until I get my VIN anyway which could be a while (Beast).

Yeah man, been in that limbo longer. I placed my order 12/28, applied and was approved for financing 12/28, rejected their trade in offer 1/5, made final payment 1/9 which they withdrew from my account 1/12 and I got no vin yet. Of the entire 4+ years this has been the most painful and frustrating few weeks of the entire time by far.
This is why I didn't pay my down payment. I just did the deposit. I have made a lot of interest off of the money sitting in my account instead of Elons. My dealership said it doesn't matter, paid or unpaid down payment, that isn't the factor, but then again that's a car salesman haha. I have a theory they are fanning out deliveries, so as they get issues reported they have less distance to worry about haha. I know production is increasing daily, so I'm hopeful.

I truly believed I was configuring the final payment and it would go through at delivery. That’s how trade in and financing work I didn’t start borrowing the money just because I applied for financing. I was shocked when they withdrew the money. I called and asked them to put it back and they told me they’d have to cancel the order and do it over again so I said just leave it.

Hey I ordered my CT on 1/9
Today I checked the app and they finally posted the trade in value for my car. Which I rejected. And now it’s asking for final payment but no delivery date or VIN was assigned. Did this happen to anyone else?

thanks,
Yes, exactly the same here. They offered $18k for my 2018 Tesla Model 3, FSD, Acceleration Boost, wrapped in matte black with white seats in perfect condition. I rejected that offer and plan to either Robotaxi or sell it private party.

Now it's asking for me to make final payment...yet I always want to see the vehicle before I give them $100k cash. RN112802433 and configured AWD on 12/29.
Tesla Cybertruck Trade in value. Final payment. But no VIN? Cybertruck Make Final Payment

What are others doing when it's in this state? Just waiting to see if VIN gets assigned at 35'ish days?

Trades are in the swamp because the used car market is stalling, interest rates are too high, economic uncertainty, election year, etc. It will be worse before it gets better. It's overcorrecting down, totally expected, it was at an all time high. I wouldn't expect "good" trade offers this year.

"The most painful and frustrating few weeks..."? I don't understand bc you know CTs are practically being "handmade" as Tesla builds a dozen or 2 per day. Grateful anticipation and perhaps one inquiry every other week to your SC Sales Rep would seem to be the best way to manage and enjoy each moment of your CT delivery timeline. Best of luck to you! ?

Don’t get me wrong, I used dramatic and actually now that I think about inaccurate words to really describe what I meant. I’m not in pain or frustrated, what I mean is that the previous 4 years since I reserved passed by without much emotion, now that it’s about to be real I’m full of anticipation and nerves and desire and it’s emotional and time is dragging out for ever. It’s like I’ve been driving for 2 hours having to go to the bathroom and now that I’m 5 mins from the destination I can barley sit still and I’m squirming around.

I gave Tesla $250K for a Roadster 6 years ago and I still don't have the car yet, what makes you think they owe you a truck once you pay that payment?

Tesla loves taking money and not giving you anything for it.

After shedding a tear drop or two, can I repeat the old adage:
