I have to say the stock price is holding up better than I expected today.

That's the thing, Elon won't be able to stop or control AI in general.
100% agree on this point. The next 10 years are going to be interesting.

I work with ML (aka AI) all day long. It's not quite the problem the general public seems to think it is, in that, no computers are going to wake up one day and take over the world. It's a different kind of problem ... knowledge without morality - https://cepr.org/voxeu/columns/ai-and-paperclip-problem

But who else would you put in charge of Tesla or at least AI within Tesla? Knowing that it's 100% happening, who do you trust?

Ironically the reasoning that he deserves the pay package some people are positing, is the same reasoning the judge came to the conclusion that the package was unfairly put together.

I've read Barrat's "Our Final Invention" and agree with much of his premise, as well as Bostrom and others.

As I've said I don't think Elon needs more control over Tesla.

I get that, but you're just saying you don't like a thing without a better idea ... who inside Tesla do we know to be more trustworthy than Elon to overwatch AI (or Tesla for that matter)?

At this point I think we need a more level headed CEO strictly devoted to Tesla and who won't threaten to take his toys and runaway like a child. The other Tesla engineers we've seen seem competent and less rash than Elon so one of them, or bring back JB.

Elon has consistently over estimated Tesla's AI technology for years as the slow progress of FSD has shown.
Estimates for results are seldom accurate when it comes to new technology. Were the Wright Brothers on schedule?

He tried to get out of buying Twitter. He "claimed" it was the "bots" issue.
What he claimed was factually correct. He had receipts and corroborating evidence that the court refused to even hear.

Are you not aware of this?

Honestly don't remember the details at this point but at the time I was not convinced by his conclusions and believe he misinterpreted Twitter's claims. There was ongoing debate as to how Twitter measured users and bots.

Since it's a public company it's not "his", it's "ours", (if you're a shareholder). But if he want's to take it private for $420 I won't complain ?
Since that was before the 5x and then 3x splits you'd get $28/share. I'll double the offer.

Even if you don't directly work in this industry, anyone with a pulse can tell that Twitter outright lied about the number of bots on their platform.

Either way, the court refused to even hear the evidence. As I said above. Justice is dead.

Since we are now post split...

Why? If this decision stands it gives Tesla billions (at least in the short term).
Market usually doesn't like uncertainty, especially around the CEO.

Musk didn't do his due diligence before signing a deal.

The "receipts" he came up with were... at best laughable.

After that, the courts forced twitter to provide data, "firehose of data" which musk and co later ran and came up with nothing verifiable.

Had the court allowed musk to break the contract he initiated, that would have been an injustice.
