Those pics are amazing. I can almost smell the air.
I know!! I love his setup. I can’t wait to do these types of adventures in CT with the Basecamp tent. I’ll be saying goodbye to my Basecamp trailer :p.

You'll never be able to. Not enough range to even get to some of those trailheads much less venture down the trails. We have now come full circle. Thank you for participating in this social engineering experiment. Please enjoy the complimentary juice and cookies on your way out.

That’s a bummer. I’ll just stick to the accessible ones. I’m sure someone will create a compile of CT friendly trails before I get my beast.

Which trail is this btw?

Funny, I lived in Durango from ‘91-‘97.

Very nice... first place Ophir or Black bear? I believe the second is the backside of the Moab rim... perhaps the Moab Rim trail?

Here is where the Cybertruck won't be going:

Thats Poison Spider, The Golden Crack, Imogene Pass, and Black Bear in the order posted. The CT is too wide for all of these and it needs more reach for the Golden Crack.

But the CT can do Ophir. I went with some folks driving a F350 6ft bed and it did fine.

The first is coming down off Imogene Pass headed towards Camp Bird having come up from Telluride. A CT could probably get there range wise but not sure it'd be so happy driving wise if the driver wasn't fairly experienced and conformable with very serious consequence narrow shelf roads. The second is out on the monument (aka GSENM), but that's as much information about my surf spots there as I will share.

Very nice. Yeah the only issue I have with the CT going up Imogene is the weight and kissing some of those drops. Also some of those switch backs are tight and I recall when I did it with my Jeep I was practically kissing other vehicle fenders when trying to get by each other. But yeah it *might* be doable.

I've been driving those San Juan roads since the early 90's and taking that Power Wagon up there was a one and done experience as far as the Telluride to the top of Imogene section for sure. Just too big of a rig given the complete hacks with no sense of etiquette that you have to deal with in bi directional traffic. I suspect that more of those roads will become one way like Black Bear soon.

That Power Wagon is on 40's with an AEV fender trim and full Carli / King Suspension. It's way bigger than a CT. It'll drive over a CT without you even knowing you did it.

Nice! Whatever adventure you guys do out there, just don’t forget to share your experiences and cool pictures. It’ll help newbie off-roaders like me!

And it goes without saying - please stay safe.

Yep... thats a really nice setup. My Jeep has 3.5" Metal Cloak Game changer suspension on 37" Nitto Trail Grapplers. I wanted 40s... but the darned 40 won't fit in the spare tire area under my rig. I didn't want to keep that in my bed at all times since I want gear in the bed. So lets just say I envy those tires... that could have extended my rig to do Pritchett canyon w/o having to worry about body damage ?

Carli/King suspension is my dream setup for my Ford F350. Maybe one day... after my wallet subsides from the CT!

I'll give you one tip. If you are going to do any off-roading with the CT beyond just a dirt road... i.e. anything that has rocks... be sure you have a spare. It takes nothing to tear a sidewall. You don't want a tow from something gnarly as those can easily cost $1K+ to get pulled out.

BTW, it doesn't have to be anything too crazy with rocks.... i.e. something the CT can easily do. You really need that spare.

Especially with the OEM tires as they are a very dumbed down AT tire to try and maximize range.

I hear ya...it was pretty intense to take a brand new PW and start cutting the fenders off to do the AEV conversion. Have my spare in the bed but space isn't an issue. American Adventure Lab did a custom rear seat delete platform setup with a totally separate Lithium / solar power supply and a 63L National Luna dual zone that lives in there, bedside and Ram Box (ARB dual compressor is in the psngr side) molle panels so there's really not much that needs to go in the bed on most trips.
