I got the invite to order on 18-Jan-24 and placed the order the same day for a Cyberbeast. I called Tesla once last week to ask about potential timelines.

This is my first Tesla, and I am not loving the customer experience. I have bought several "special" cars and motorcycles in the past. Every manufacturer was light years better in customer engagement and managing expectations than Tesla.

I just hate reading posts about someone complaining. Especially when they are complaining in front of 22,000 people in the exact same boat.

I got the invite to order on 18-Jan-24 and placed the order the same day for a Cyberbeast. I called Tesla once last week to ask about potential timelines.

This is my first Tesla, and I am not loving the customer experience. I have bought several "special" cars and motorcycles in the past. Every manufacturer was light years better in customer engagement and managing expectations than Tesla.

I understand the part about customer engagement but not the part about managing customer expectations. Specifically, we are still within the stated delivery window. I configured on 12/26/23 and knew I was towards the end of the stated Jan-March estimated delivery window so I have never expected to get it before March.

I also took Elon's words to heart, that this will be Tesla's most difficult product to ramp, and it will be slow. I know that not even Tesla can perfectly map the production ramp, because there are significant uncertainties and some of them are even beyond their control. So there is no real point in them constantly revisiting your order, calling you up and changing or narrowing the estimated delivery window. Because it will still be just a guess.

Production is hard, and the hardest part is the early ramp. That has never been more true than with the Cybertruck since it uses so many novel materials and production techniques. Every day is a new learning experience.

Name one other car or motorcycle you have bought that was as novel as the Cybertruck in material and production methods. I think you went into this with unrealistic expectations. But if this kind of experience is not for you, there are plenty of other manufacturers who offer products that will be able to get the same jobs done.
