When I changed the lane to the left, I almost hit a car on the left lane. It was very close at both case. I had twice in last 2 days, so a little concerning. I expected a sound alarm as well as a visual alarm on the display during the events, but did not get any alarm at all, which made me think if the sensors were functioning.. Can someone tell where the sensors and how to check ?

For starters, many software features are missing, it would not be surprising if blind spot monitoring was one of them. The blind spot only comes from "tesla vision", so there isn't a sensor to check.

Second, if you aren't driving as though you don't have a blind spot monitor, you are a hazard on the road.

oh, no blind spot monitoring.. OK. but can't I expect any kind of alarm when I almost hit the car? It was about 1 foot or 1.5.

No. You can not expect an alarm. That's the point of Level 2 autonomy. It might help you, but you're responsible for all the checking.

Also, make sure the feature you want is activated. Tesla will tell you somewhere in the click throughs what features are active.

I'm guessing it will come in a software update.
so basically nothing, no warning until a collision. thats a big surprise, but good to know. I will drive my CT accordingly.

You should drive all vehicles expecting no alerts.

There are no vehicles current sold which guarantee an alarm before a collision.

Another Cybertruck owner shared this screenshot of all the missing features. It's interesting that it doesn't say anything blindspot monitoring not being available. Maybe you should double check your settings, maybe the audio alert for blindspot is turned off?

Did you turn on your turn signal?
Have you ever seen the red shadow on the display?
How close is close? What may be close to you may not be close to others.

Oh you know that's a good question, I shouldn't have assumed someone who didn't look before they changed lanes was using their turn signal
yes of course, it was very close. both case, the other drivers were a kind of mad. I saw that red banner at the different incident tough. so I thought some specific sensor issue initially

Again, how close was "very close" 3 inches?

Tesla doesn't implement a passive blind-spot system, like most cars do. Tesla is more active. The red shadows will tell you that you may have a problem, but the alarms don't tend to go off until you actually have a problem.

If the other driver was pissed, then the car probably determined that there wasn't a problem, after all, you evidently accomplished the transition. If there was probability of the vehicles touching, that's when Tesla starts to get upset.

I noticed when its about 1 foot(max 1.5feet), which I expect some kind of warning.

There are 3 blind spot warning systems currently active in CT, all located under Safety settings:
  1. Automatic blind spot camera - show red shade in a repeater camera feed if a car present in the blind zone
  2. Blind spot collision warning chime
  3. Blind spot warning light - activates a red light in the door corner in the square speaker grill when a car is present in the blind zine
Do you have these enabled?
?? so CT does have these capability? thats great, I will definitely check them!
