Waiting for my post to be approved.......but my immediate advice was for him to back up the footage as that will be 100% a slam dunk if the other driver was at fault, the cameras on the side of the vehicle will have captured the whole thing.

how do those types of claims work, do you get the diminished value back and they add on the lawyers fees or do you pay the fees from the receipts of your claim ?

A good lawyer will negotiate on your behalf on the largest claim possible. He will take his cut from the final settlement. No out of pocket expenses. It's worth every penny to have a good attorney to do all the leg work for you.
I'm surprised how many people don't go forward with a Diminished Value claim.
When and if you sell your CT, the Carfax report is going to show an accident and result in a lower resale value. Why not get a check for the loss now?
