I have noticed a lot of people on here having lots of issues with their new CTs. For the smart people on here and those that went through the model 3 hell, what do you think is going on?

I know it’s a bunch of new technology, as Elon said as much, so there would be growing pains. But it feels like they are ramping production pretty well, but seemingly having more issues. Are these software problems? Build problems? I assume Tesla is very aware and trying to fix them, but is it hard to fix while trying to ramp?

Just some musings on what I am noticing. I am at least 2 years out with my RN#, so hopefully they will have them dialed in.. as it is, thanks for all you taking your deliveries and bearing the brunt of some build issues!

Tesla will have things fixed by then, they can not afford not to. If they continue to ship CT with as many problems as they have now they will go out of business.
Like always Tesla early release vehicles are a mess, my son's is a brick until they fix his wiring harness but if you get yours a few years from now it will likely be way better.

I got a very early Model Y and never had any real problems with it but since its lineage is so close to the Model 3, the manufacturing step was probably much easier than previous new production models.

I too have been watching the reports of issues. I got a 2018 Model X 100 D about half a year after it was released and have had zero issues with it, at 100K+ miles, EXCEPT: I starting getting messages to recalibrate the gull wing doors. that was about the only element of the X that was not part of the Model S on which the X was based. I called the Tesla service department in Reno and asked them about it. They said they could tow from Mammoth Lakes to Reno on a flat bed truck, about 200 miles north on US 395. Then they decide to send a mobile repair shop to me first. Jesse ran diagnostics and could not pinpoint the issue so he decided to replace the struts in the passenger-side gull wing door. It solved the problem. He then replaced the struts in the drivers' side gull wing door just in case, even though it had never given me the same re-calibrate message. that was in 2019. I have never had a single issue with the X. Until or unless the CT does as well the X, the X will remain the single best vehicle I have ever owned.

All new vehicles have issues, CT being all new tech means that it is going to have more than most.
