As far as the guy claiming that lack of regen caused him to jump the curb and hit a light pole, he is just trying to blame someone else for his bad driving, had to be going pretty damn fast to not be able to navigate a normal left turn at an intersection. Had to go across multiple lanes and up over the curb to hit that pole. No matter how great the car is it cannot overcome bad driving and the laws of physics. He was just going way to fast to make the turn, regardless of brakes regen or anything else. If the OP wants everything to be the same as his old vehicles and doesn't like all the new features & technologies he should not have bought a vehicle stated to have leading edge new & different technology?
I agree on the light pole story. Smells like an excuse to try to get it covered.

The wireless charger overheats my iphone very quickly. Seems like it needs an AC vent near it.
I don’t have this issue. Warm at best, just like any other wireless charger. I wonder what the variables are. What case do you use?

That's a pain. Worse than a clutch. You're always on, so it's exhausting.

That's not the way that most people feel. IT's actually a lot less effort, you don't have to switch between pedals.

BTW, if you take your foot of the pedal in any other car, you slow down, You still have to be on.
Just a day or two and people become accustomed with one-pedal driving and then hate to go back.

Regen definitely takes time to get used to. It's very equivalent to downshifting to slow your speed in a manual, but smoother. The thing I don't like about regen is in order to stop smoothly, instead of taking your foot off of the gas, and hovering it over the brake to feather your stop, you have to leave your foot on the gas until the very last second, then hurry and switch it over to the brakes. It's much safer to have your foot on the brake pedal the whole time, because if something changes and you need to stop sooner, your foot is already in the right place.

I use roll mode. I gave hold mode a few chances, but it never makes the transition from regen to brakes as smoothly as I do. I always end up stopping both later than I want to, and less smoothly than I do manually.

I hope I'll fall in love with it later.

I'm from Benz and I've used gas and hybrid vehicles, this is the first time with electric one.

Things I dislike:

- Gas pedal: it startled me when first time I released the gas pedal to put my foot on the brake. It brakes immediately when I removed my foot off the gas for re-gen. I know I can adjust it later but still I just want to put my foot on brake when slowing down or braking. There's a thread a member hit the light pole when turning I guess because of this.

- My aging eyes, just a few more years to retire, don't like the screen no matter the brightness. I need glasses to see that screen but not for driving. So I put my glasses down on the center console and use it to see what's going on behind me with that little rectangle screen of the rear camera, or read what data on it.

- Arrows of the turning signals: I prefer the levers better.

- Side mirrors: small with weird shapes.

- My iPhone's battery is draining faster.

- Road noises: I hope it might get better because of new tires. The ODO was only 14 miles when I picked up yesterday.

- Too much attentions from people.

Things I like:

- Not sure what. Probably the tough body and glasses: the reason I put down $100 deposit in Nov, 2019. I hate to see the first scratch, dent, ding, ... on the new car's paint.
Thank you for your post. I think your experience is a cautionary tale that perhaps a new buyer of a $100K vehicle rents a Tesla or EV first and drives one for a couple of weeks before driving one owned off the lot.

I am in your category, closer to retirement and have never owned an EV or hybrid.

I have had no issues with charging my fold 4. From what I have read so far it seems to be apple phones? Anyone with other android phones having issues?

Going straight into a Tesla with no experience seems a bit weird. It drives very similar to all other Tesla's. Did you buy a cybertruck without even test driving another Tesla? That seems more on you if that's the case.

From my experience, I already drove a Tesla and everything about the truck is better. I have absolutely zero complaints.
Exactly what I was thinking, it may be a little too much for him. You can't teach an old dog new tricks lol hopefully he adjusts because it is a big adjustment if all he had were ice cars. 99% of people that bought a tesla is usually because they already had one before and know what to expect.

Reading this tells me that you are an individual that doesn’t like change. It’s ok, not everyone is a good fit for the latest technology. I do hope you hang in there and give it a fair chance… you may grow to love the very things that are a challenge today.

Cruise control:
Software can't keep a consistent energy at pace. The truck will pulse at cruise. For example, at 65mph (any speed will do) and to stay at 65, the motor will speed up and slow down like the wheel is an oval, there is a long row and a short row. Seems like the battery is increasing engery and reduce it it every .5 second. This doesn't happen if I manually drive at 65.
I thought it was just me, but I noticed this to, really hope that gets sorted in a software update. Not sure why it’s not smooth when pacing at a constant speed.

Thank you for letting me know. I thought my motors may be bad at 1st, but can't repro driving manually so chucked it up as a software issue.

I'm surprised about some of the one pedal driving comments. Think it took about 5 minutes to rewire the brain for the transition, but have only been driving fossil cars for 57 years so didn't have much of a habit formed. ;-)

One pedal driving gives the driver far more control and at least in my Model Y is totally consistent. IMO it makes driving more predictable and safer. It's one of the things I love most about Teslas.

The minimalist interior is a preface of things to come in future Tesla's. It's not a coincidence that the controls are now as bare as necessary.

Once FSD is the norm all that's left to eliminate is the steering wheel, brake pedal and accelerator from the interior.

Like it or not FSD is coming our way.
Wow, great observation! I think you're absolutely right about this, why would Tesla waste time and money making things/features that will be obsolete in the very near future. I've always thought the minimalist design was just the esthetically clean look they were going for, but what you're saying makes all the sense. -thank you!
