Towing on flat your premise is correct but in 40+ years of towing, driving RV's mountain driving and hauling weight uphill is a real energy sapper. No such thing as a tailwind to help you get up a grade. that holds true no matter what you're using to tow, gas, diesel, or electri.
No argument there, but you get it back when going down, so unless you're doing friction braking, it doesn't really matter to the EV.

For instance, going two-up on my Zero doesn't reduce my range; Because that extra weight increases the amount of time that regen functions.

So the weight barely matters at all.

Why people think they can tow long distance with an ev is beyond me.
I've done it. What's the problem? Superchargers are located, in most places, every 50 miles. And when they aren't every 50 miles, most of them are ever 25 miles, very few are more than 50 miles.

But you've never had the opportunity to get most of that power back when going downhill. The Cybertruck does!

You don't see the problem? Sure it is possible, but is it dumb?
Having to charge every 100 miles and having to disconnect your load every time, and having to spend at least an hour without accounting for waiting in line for charger availability) when you're traveling thousands of miles...if you think this is ok, you're crazy...have fun!
And if you think a larger battery pack is going to drastically improve upon this problem, you will again be disappointed as charge times will double, for just another 100 miles of travel. I've always said this...if you ever plan on towing anything heavy for more than a couple hundred miles, you simply need an ICE truck. Electric (passenger) trucks are NOT for towing, despite them being able to pull a house up a 15% grade while passing everyone...They don't make ANY sense for towing heavy loads for long distances. But go ahead and learn this lesson out there on your own, some people need to experience things on their own to learn.

Getting 150 miles in between my lunch and bathroom breaks into next campground is good enough for me.

Sooo many things you get to learn. Welcome to the world of EVs.

Are you suggesting that the Tesla Semi doesn't make any sense? It's doing the long haul.

I've pulled my 3,000 lb boat behind my Model Y for well over 1,000 miles.

And never did I ever, fill up a tank for over $200, as is so common with ICE trucks.

Oh and waiting for chargers, I'm assuming that you are in CA, it's a different world in the rest of the country.

Sooo many things for you to learn.
