At the expense of the tires on the CT… would likely be much cheaper to put it on a trailer and pay for trailer tires instead of truck tires. Just my two cents. And that’s considering the cost of the trailer itself. If you haven’t driven Teslas much, their torque burns through tires super fast. Add this flat towing, and ouch. Hope you have deep pockets. Just my thoughts.

From edmunds:

With electric vehicles gaining in popularity, you might be wondering if you can flat-tow them. It might seem like because most don't have traditional transmissions and can be put into neutral they can be flat-towed, but this isn't true. The electric motors will always be connected to the wheels, and as you tow your electric vehicle behind your RV, the wheels will spin the motors. This may cause damage to the electric motors and, as a result, flat towing an EV isn't advisable.

Answered my question. Trailer it is! If I can find one that will fit the CT.

No on the CT but you can with the Rivian and a tow dolly on the front wheels. Munro talked to RJ in an interview and mentioned it.

A Rivian patent popped up that allows towing on all four wheels
BUT 'propel it' in some way. Text from article:

Free-wheel towing mode would disconnect the motor or motors that normally power the rear wheels, but keep the front-axle motor or motors engaged. Torque would still be applied to the front wheels to keep the vehicle from rolling out of sync with the tow vehicle. Software would use a vehicle's existing sensors to measure wheel speed and gradient, applying torque when necessary and cutting it off at a predetermined threshold.
Source: In the patent application in question, which was published by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on Feb. 13 (but filed on May 12, 2021), Rivian proposes adding a software mode for free-wheel towing to its electric pickup trucks and SUVs, alongside the various drive modes and other software-enabled features already available.
