Did you save the video 10 minutes the truck always buffers?. If not you need to learn how. It would have answered The what happened questions. Must be excited to have your vehicle back.

So apparently my dash cam wasn’t formatted and didn’t record ??‍♂ it’s one of my tips. MAKE SURE YOUR DASHCAM IS FORMATTED AT DELIVERY ?

TLDR; Plastic parts in the Cybertruck are cheap. Long 30 minute video. He was sideswiped and paid out of pocket for repairs to avoid dealing with a long insurance process.

Tesla Cybertruck My CyberTruck is finally fixed: Cost & Timeline revealed IMG_8729

He paid $55 for the plastic wheel flare and $165 In labor. Tesla covered his rocker panel as “Goodwill” since he already had a service ticket open for corrosion. His wrap company charges him ~$750 to rewrap the side. I would have loved to know how much the panel was considering it is HFS.

I feel for you no matter if it was CT or any other vehicle. Getting in an accident always suck. When you got struck and the lady started to claim it was your fault, you should’ve called for a police report. Even without a dash cam, the police report would’ve shut the agents mouth.

I go over the whole process and give tips so hopefully this process goes smoother for anyone who unfortunately finds themselves in this same situation.

Hope you enjoy!

Glad things worked out. However, there is still a hidden negative by not contesting the claim with the other party's insurance company.

If you do not contest it and file a claim, you will be found at fault as (as you noted) that is what she reported to her insurance company. Being at fault, they may report it on a CLUE report (Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange). This is like a credit report for any insurance claim made (any property insurance - home, auto, etc). For auto accidents it lists both parties.

If her insurance company has your insurance information (I believe you said you exchanged information), they may well file a claim against your policy as you were found at fault. if Tesla pays, they will file that CLUE report as a claim against your policy.

Your CLUE report is how insurance companies know how to set your individual rate at renewal.

You can obtain your CLUE report free under the Fair Credit Reporting Act once each year from LexisNexis. https://risk.lexisnexis.com/products/clue-auto

Insurance is not a fun market and there are a number of hidden gotchas. I hate to add a down to your roller coaster ride, but you should be aware of this.

Isn't paying out of pocket for accident repairs the same thing as admitting fault for the accident?

It sure seems like it.

Wow! I didn’t know any of this. I really appreciate the insight. I haven’t heard from anyone in a few weeks so I’m hoping this isn’t the case and if it is I can supply evidence to prove that she was at fault. Like I said in the video she had no evidence so I doubt they will proceed but ??‍♂

Not at all. I decided to pay out of pocket because the costs were low and it would speed the process up for myself as my truck was lined up for paid gigs. Plus this would keep a clean title for my CT

Paying out of pocket doesn't stop you from filing an insurance claim and getting reimbursed when the claim is processed. It's not an either/or situation.
