I get so many comments on my YouTube videos stating that the Cybertruck is overpriced. Well meet Vince, he owns not one but three luxury vehicles all of which cost over $100,000. He test drives the CT and I finally ask him “Is the Cybertruck worth $100,000?”

I have had luxury cars and none of them excite me the way the CT excites me.........it is a car with a design from another galaxy

I don’t get the people who say the CT is cheap or flimsy. Mine feels solid and quite nice. I wonder if they mistake minimalistic for cheap? Regardless, I will say, having owned 20+ BMW, Porsche, MB, I will never go back to “luxury” leather seats again. I had an upholstery expert tell me many years ago that vinyl was the way to go and he was correct. Just sold my 2018 Model 3 and the seats looked practically brand new after 5+ Years of use and they don’t cause me to sweat like leather does.
Well, it looks flimsy on YouTube? Doesn't that count?

If you can afford "luxury" then you can afford to get your seats upholstered every three years. Doesn't it?

Could've just asked me. I think I would still take a fairly new Bentley Bentayga for luxury. For attention go with a Lamborghini Aventador, for daily use go with the CT. Right now you get tons of eyeballs while driving the CT but that will change in a few months to a year. Not many luxury cars in my opinion beat out the CT anymore. When I'm asked what I paid I just tell people the same price as a fully loaded Toyota Tundra. At the time I bought my CT a fully loaded Tundra was $95k and that's before the dealer will gouge you for more in service and then taxes, so we're basically the same price.

When asked, I tell them less than a Ford Raptor-R. They generally look impressed by that. The Raptor-R starts at $109K and can go a lot higher.

Oh true, even cheaper than the TRX. Didn't think of tossing out the fast high end trucks, just the normal everyday trucks people drive.

Many of these fail to address the most expensive thing for any vehicle: ownership costs. You can buy a $6k used camry, but that doesn't mean you can afford to own it. Trucks cost $20k-30k (depending on US location) in gas alone to drive them 100k miles. My CT costs me a third of that only 8% of the time. The other 92% are from my home solar, which is "free" in this context.

Hmmm, so yeah, I'll take a brand new truck for the CA-adjusted price of $40k over 200k miles. Easy choice.

I’ve also got a Defender X, and have only driven Land Rovers /Range Rovers the last 20 years and I feel like the Cyber is on par with them and priced accordingly. It’s not a $60 truck and buyers in that space should look at the new Taco or F150
Funny you mention the Taco. We have a few rental properties and were looking to get a truck that could haul things like sheetrock and plywood. Toyota announced the new Taco early last year then went quiet.... for almost a year. We struck up a relationship with the local Toyota dealership and finally got to see one in person in early February - we were not impressed. They could have made the bed a few inches wider and it would have fit what we needed it for. We would have spend almost $90k on a Tundra to get the most basic of our needs met (hybrid, 4x6 bed) and they are HUGE!

A month later we got the Cybertruck invite.

It was pretty entertaining to tell the Toyota folks that we wouldn't be moving forward with one on their trucks since the CT met all of our needs and more. Hopefully the competition makes them better.

well, it is the most luxurious rig I have ever had and will have. I too got rid of a Ram Rebel, Power wagon and Excursion just for this one truck and LOVE IT. SOOOO happy with this truck. My wife (Jeep lover) even said we don't need all her jeeps now and should sell one. That won't happen but Love this truck.

I have a 2014 Porsche Cayman S - people get it in, say it’s nice and then when I take them for drive : this is so rough, I thought porsche would be more luxurious. Mmm, it’s a car I can/do take to the track on weekends and then drive around town rest of the week. It’s still the car that excites me the most, that 6 in the cab behind you, nothing like it.

In my 89 911 some people can’t understand why I’d want an old car. For the unique look, smells, manual driving interactions and oh god the sounds.

My Ct - just get in, forget the world and enjoy the tech and drive. To me, it is worth the price, and it is the future of cars to be. And having my own driver (FSD) - perfect luxury.

Other people that don’t have what you have can’t tell you what you don’t have.

To each their own as long as it works for you.
