“Tesla said it first received a notice of one of these accelerator pedal incidents from a customer on March 31, and then a second one on April 3. After performing a series of tests, it decided on April 12 to issue a recall after determining that an “[a]n unapproved change introduced lubricant (soap) to aid in the component assembly of the pad onto the accelerator pedal,” and that “[r]esidual lubricant reduced the retention of the pad to the pedal.””

Finally a formal explanation… thank you for sharing!

I gotta look and see who had “lubricant” as the issue but someone here called it. Now we can all go back to not trying to kill each other over who’s getting their truck first and why this is all being delayed.

Found the detailed recall report for anyone interested. All service centers and delivery centers will be notified today.
“ Identify How/When Recall Condition By April 17, 2024, Cybertruck vehicles in production were equipped with a was Corrected in Production: new accelerator pedal component and part number. Cybertruck vehicles at
delivery centers and in transit to delivery centers will receive the remedy described above prior to delivery to customers.”

I noticed that Tesla has delivered 3878 trucks so far. I had wondered about delivery numbers but hadn't seen anything besides the Excel sheet on this forum. Now we know it accounts for about 10 percent.
I think you mean ~10%. 340 is reported in spreadsheet out of 3800.

"vehicles manufactured from November 13, 2023, to April 4, 2024". We have a few that just showed up in Maryland for Delivery. I assume they have the "fix".

What's the MSM going to do now?? Don't they strongly prefer reporting software updates as recalls instead? Now when a real wolf shows up many won't listen to the 'MSM who cried wolf' ... :ROFLMAO:

But regardless of how the MSM spins it, such an easy condition to correct.
