Just ordered a foundation series Cyberbeast - got the free charging which pushed me to purchase. What do I need to know and or prepare for?

Prepare for your local Tesla service center to be completely unknowledgeable. Make sure the vehicles stainless surface is acceptable to you and all the foundation series accessories are present. ????

Any regrets? I struggled with the buy decision thinking waiting for better battery tech might be smart - any range problems? this is my first tesla

I feel you. I was in your shoes not long ago. That's why I used my Youtube channel to start reviewing a lot of things for the CT. I'll put the link below, but here is the short version. FYI I have a FSCB.
I listened to a lot of folks on the internet prior to purchase and I came within a finger tap away from canceling my order. I'm very grateful I didn't. While there have been a few frustrating points I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

By far the largest headache is keeping it clean. Just get it wrapped if you don't want the pain unless you're good with it always looking dingy. This is unlike most every other vehicle of there in terms of cleanliness.

The second issue are accessories. Hence the reason for my videos. The CT is great, but you're going to find that you're lacking simple space to put things and other things to just make your life nicer. Seriously, there are some things missing that are standard equipment on other trucks. E.g. under seat storage is non existent, screen protector like you use for your phone. Seriously, you don't want to risk scratching the screen.

Third is just getting used to Tesla and the CT in particular as it's different in how it drives. Takes a bit of getting used to, but it's a joy to drive once you get used to it. Please watch the tutorial videos before you go to pick it up. Learn how to effectively drive without touching the brakes. It will save you a lot of money in the long run.

Lastly, come to grips with the fact there's little to no maintenance. Here are the regular maintenance items: Add wiper fluid when prompted, change wiper blade when needed, rotate tires every 6000 miles and change when needed and change the cabin air filter every 2 years. That's pretty much it.

Hope that helps!

Start practicing smiling now, or your face will be sore next week. :)

Had mine since July, still look for reasons to drive it every day. Even annoyances like sitting in traffic don't really bother me anymore, especially when the truck is driving and I've got some Zac Brown playing.

Edit: real talk - get your home charging situation ready, and make sure you can park it in decent wifi coverage so they can push the software updates. Other than that, take your time going through the driving/UX options on the display. And pick up some Sprayway Glass cleaner (NOT Sprayway Stainless Steel cleaner). All the information you need is in this forum.

Are you planning on wrapping? My personal experience with scratches is that the service center will only make it worse.

I've been reading about wrap options, I'm thinking matte black, or a color shift of some kind. . As well as window tint to reduce heat inside, do you have wrap recommendations? Type/Color? self healing worth it?

Plenty of delivery videos on YT
Most important, you have 7 days, 100 miles to find issues that will have no questions asked remediation

were past these issues all fixed by service centers and design changes/manuf, which were not wide spread, only a few affected:

disconnected accelerator pedal (was wide)
A pillar stainless loosening, separating
Inverter
Front motor
Back motor
Wiper motor
Front of vehicle, tonneau edge leaking in heavy rain

CT owners, what else?

It's all personal choice. I'm doing the satin black PPF once everything is figured out with the scratches. I wasn't planning on wrapping for a year or so, but with the scratches, I might as well

Satin black is probably the most popular and most common. But to me, I think it looks amazing. I wouldn't do any other color.

One thing I’ll add is the regen braking. The best way to think about slowing down is not to lift off the accelerator 100%. It’s the reverse of how you slowly press the accelerator to go faster. If you want to slow down, slowly lift off the accelerator (but not to 100%). If you need to slow down quicker, then lift off quicker. Hope that makes sense.

Congrats on the great choice of getting a Beast. Had mine since late September and I honestly love it.

One thing to know: you will get a factory version of the software that may or may not have FSD. I’m guessing you will have FSD though. But if you see people talking about a new update, know that it may take a few weeks before you receive your update. Once you do, you’ll be on the “normal“ schedule, but don’t waste your time trying to get updates before they’re pushed to you. It’s normal for newer owners to wait a bit.

Best of luck to you. Best vehicle I’ve ever owned.

I personally like the color shift. DO NOT go cheap on the wrap. Self heal is absolutely worth it as you don't worry about door dings. The stuff is tough.
Matte black is very common. I like my custom wrap as it's very unique.

I highly recommend the window tint as well. Don't forget to do a clear tint on the front window. You have a football field worth of dashboard and you want to protect it from UV rays.

Also when you get your truck don't forget to go to SOFTWARE and select ADVANCED for the software update. That way you'll get the latest update as soon as possible. Otherwise it may take a while after each update release to get it. Remember that in most cases it won't update unless it's hooked up to WiFi.

Zero regrets! This truck is amazing. You will not want to stop driving it. Have some patience with the dealer and their processes especially if you have owned lux German imports in the past. I have personally sworn off the antiquated dealer model and prefer the way the Tesla model works (all through app, no back and forth). If you have questions, use YouTube or this forum for most answers and realize that this is a gen 1 vehicle and may have some hiccups. My family of 4 uses the CT as the ultimate road trip vehicle and the FSD is hands down an absolute mic drop. Enjoy the Beast!

Find an empty parking lot and get used to steer by wire and four wheel steering. We spent an hour or so in the back of the delivery center practicing maneuvers and parking. Don't want to turn your rims the first day.

Then start driving in chill mode to adapt your mental model of how a car acts to how the Beast does. I basically spent a day on chill then moved up your standard where I usually leave it.

Of course, I was coming from a 20+ year old >200k mile pickup. Depending what you drive now, there may be less of a difference.

Oh yeah, and figure out home charging.
