I have stupid questions regarding buying a cybertruck, pls don't judge!

Hey guys,
I live in the Arabian Gulf and I saw a cybertruck the other day and I definitely want to buy one. I'll be buying it in cash. I have few questions as I've never owned a tesla before.

1) I went on Tesla website and it seems I need to put in an order there, how long would it take for the car to be ready?

2) this is where I feel my question might be stupid, we have EV stations where I live, are all those universal world wide? I guess I'm just projecting the situation we have with electrical plugs, is it the same for EVs? Do I need to buy some kind of convertor?

1) Sorry, I don't have any experience with this, you should ask another member.

2) For Tesla charging stations, if you have a Tesla account, all you do is plug in and it will automatically charge you (and charge you, lol). For separate EV stations you need to use the converter that comes with the Cybertruck, and it's a bit more complicated and slower. If you're curious where there are Tesla charging stations near you, you can check this.

I currently have a 2024 F-150 Lightning (all electric) while I wait for my non foundation Cybertruck in Canada and I had a similar worry. However, all the plugs are very universal I found, and my truck came with all the plug types so I would assume and hope that Tesla would be the same.

My initial thought is that some countries over there prohibit general public from ownership due to the government considering a Cyber Truck an “armored vehicle “.

I was just in Dubai visiting from California...you need Cybertrucks there! I did not see a single one!

Charging: There are adapters for Tesla charging to non-tesla stations.

Charge Time: NOTE: Here in the US some 'genera' electric charge stations are VERY LOW current and the CT would take a full day to charge.

At Home: If you install a 220VAC 48 AMP Home Tesla Charger: Your CT will charge in about 3-4 hours..which is completely fine -cause you can top it off every evening to keep it at 80%.

You will definitely love driving the CT, I've had a G-Wagon...the CT is smoother and quieter...

That is correct, however, having a home 48amp charger, my CT rare goes to 0%....Even my gas car I don't let go to the last gallon. And actually owning an electric vehicle - you don't go much below 15%...

For long trips - you'll need access to a Supercharger.

I am speaking from 'living' with a cybertruck as a daily driver, I even work 2-3 days a week 50 miles from my home - and drive on my CT charge for those 2-3 days and still can drive home 50 miles...without charging the CT for those 2-3 days remote from home. And I drive locally without much concern on the remote 2-3 days.

I did NOT have a home charger for the first 3 months of owning my CT - and it WAS A constant concern where and when to charge.

That concern evaporated with a home charger.

My read is the poster was looking for 'practical' advise on having and living with a CT.

BTY: Locally there are 'ChargePoint' stations at a office complex near my office - it's TERRIBLE - like 6Kw..which is not even remotely practical for something with a 100kw battery like the CT. IMO: I think some of the low amp charge stations are only to get the government EV credits and comply with local business codes.

I was about to buy a used FS Cyberbeast from an acquaintance I knew but before I could even offer a deal, it was sold to someone in Dubai and being shipped from SoCal.

In terms of the power conversion, I googled kuwait power at 50 hz, while North America uses 60 Hz. I didn't see any documentation on 60 Hz to 50 Hz, but don't know if the onboard charger supports this. I suspect there is cases of people moving their tesla overseas already and it probably would work.

Brother, agree...too much hype and confusion. I admittedly had 'range' anxiety the first few weeks with my CT - I realize now the new paradigm with electric vehicles IS having a reasonable amperage home charger. I tried the 110VAC that came with the CT - it is a joke - maybe keep the radio presets. Even a 20AMP 220VAC - Dryer port in most US garages is NOT sufficient..

...so you can't plug into Mom/Dads home dryer 220VAC plug and get any kind of reasonable charge - I tried that too.

Life got better installing a 220VAC 48 Amp tesla home charger. [Also put it on a 50amp breaker]

Everyone's perspective is important. I don't use my CT as a 'work truck' but a daily driver. So my view is limited to that.

You'll probably need to find an adapter which works with the CT and the CCS chargers which are in your area. You can likely purchase and install a NACS/J3400 charger from Tesla or another company at your home as long as you're on a 50 or 60 amp breaker.

A NOTE about the US 220VAC 48 amp Tesla Charger: On my first home install the electrical [friend] put it on a 40amp breaker - this throttled it back about %25 ...

I had him come back and put it on a 60amp breaker [I guess there are no 50amp breakers]

That allowed the charger to go to its full 48 amps - which provides good charging rate/ best you can get at a home charger.

My "rule of thumb" for home charging is 10% an hour. If you need 30%, it is going to take about 3 hours.

This is from a 240v 48a circuit, on a 60a breaker.
