Hmm mine works ok (so far). Left the phone in the house and the keycard unlocked and let me drive. Took several tries to get it to lock the truck back up with the card though.
Took delivery in oct 24. Non FS dual motor 2024.45.25.5
same here. It did not work the first time i tried it but it is working now.

same here. It did not work the first time i tried it but it is working now.
After seeing all of the reports I tested out all of my cards including the new cyber truck one and a couple of my RFID rings and everything seems to be working. I did note that it seemed to be harder to find the *sweet spot and maybe that has to do something to do with the latest firmware update and what people are experiencing.

*Because, at first I thought son of a bitch! It’s happened to me too! I couldn’t get one of the included Tesla cards to work at all for a few agonizing minutes, but moving around for what seemed like a excessively long period of time, I finally got it to work. And then, after I knew exactly where to place it, it worked consistently thereafter.

My CT went into the shop yesterday and side door pillar was replaced. It still did not work. I was told the service technician nees to diagnose the problem and l will be contacted as soon as the technician figure out the problem.

I just had my service appointment this morning to install my wheel covers and fix my key card issue. The tech said that it is a firmware issue and Tesla is working on it. He had originally ordered a panel replacement until they did more research into the issue. No ETA on a firmware update.

He also mentioned that Tesla is working to get all the CTs on the same firmware and working through issues with that. So no resolution and I'll have to continue leaving my truck unlocked with my phone inside of it everyday at work...

Has anybody else experienced this? I went to use my key card yesterday and it would not unlock my truck, tried the second one with no luck. These are key cards that previously worked. I got in the truck with my phone key, then turned off Bluetooth and put the card in the cupholder and it was recognized and I could operate the vehicle, same with the second key card. I could not figure out why it would operate the truck but not unlock it.
I went to my local service center and the tech said this is the third CyberTruck with this issue in the last two days. Apparently it is a software bug.
I’d be curious if anybody else has encountered this and if you haven’t tried your card in a while, try it and see if you’re affected.
The technician said he will put this in the system and reach out when they have a solution but as of now, they do not have a fix.
Ditto

Would be nice if the pillar reader consistently worked even if one left the card in a thick wallet, and just waved the wallet at it. That might be complicated by the presence of multiple contactless cards in the wallet.
I never have to take my key card out of my wallet to use it. It works even if it has to transmit through 30 or 40 bills (which is around the most bills I want to carry due to the extra thickness in my back pocket). I have a bi-fold wallet and put the key card in the left side in the pocket closest to the bills. Because the key card is always in the same place, I know which side of the wallet to present to the car. No problems.

My wife and I use different Tesla accounts so this is how I open her driver's door if I arrive to her car before her phone is in range. It also makes sure the driver's seat goes to my profile setting.

There's quite a few complaints about this on the FarceBook Cybertruck group. It seems to be an issue getting the FW levels in sync across the various controllers, since the security protocols are predictably fussy about that sort of thing, for obvious reasons.

Some said it was resolved by having the SC reinstall the FW. Mine seems to be working OK.

My card key is working to unlock the truck, so far. It's always seemed finicky about the exact spot to place it on the B pillar. I usually wear my Apple watch and carry my phone so I rarely take the card out of my wallet, but I'd like to be able to depend on the card key as a backup.

Build 2024.45.25.15 is installed.

Found out about this problem the hard way when my phone died.

I have an appointment to get windshield re-tinted next week so it sounds like I will have to unlock the truck from my phone when they go to do the work and then re-lock it from my phone until I have time to pick it up.

Be sure to disable the Walk-Away Door Lock so it will stay unlocked for them.
