Not surprised really. QC has never been a top priority at Tesla’s US assembly plants.

American car buyers are way more tolerant of cosmetic issues than auto buyers in other countries. Supposedly Shanghai has the best QC among all Tesla plants worldwide.

Did you take delivery in the last 2-4 months? The reason I ask, maybe it was the result of a earthquake tremor during the laser etching process. I say that because it only appears on some letters and I assume the letters are etched sequentially.

Is the production date roughly consistent with any known tremors or earthquakes? Like this one:

Same here. They got suuuuuuuper lazy with the Cerberus badges. A family friend got an AWD and his tailgate has the logo just as unnoticeable as mine. I got a peel and stick badge from @getsometom, but I don’t see them on his Etsy store anymore.

If you’re still here, can you advise if you’re still making them? I’d happily pick up a few emergency spares because this thing is very well made.

I finally found you guys I knew that I couldn't be the only one that had this problem.
It was a struggle, but I got the SC to change the tailgate stainless steel skin.
when I took delivery of my CB on Sep 15th 2024 Vin #032XXX
very close in the time of delivery to (AbblePC)
sounds like we have a batch of CB with bad logo etchings.
I was not aware that it should even have the logo.
after some time having the truck a saw another Beast with the logo.
and that opened my eyes that if I Have a foundation series Cyberbeast with
3 motors. It means it should have the 3 headed Beast logo on the tail gate
this is what indicates to all observers this is a 3 motor 0-60 in 2.4sec. beast.
so, I talked to my SC guy. and he agreed that I should have it.
as we both looking at a blank tailgate.
he said he would look into it for me.
next visit he said yes you do need to have that logo with your model.
The AWD version should not have the logo.
so after confirming that indeed im missing the logo
they schedualed me out a month away for replacement of the tailgate.
during this time a friend of mine with x ray vision picked up on the very faint out line of the logo
so it was there at some point, but got removed sometime before my delivery... go figure?
after a month wait when I show up it was like they forgot about my tailgate told me sorry well have to reschedule you in a week, long story short it was a mess. but it did get replaced, except 2 fasteners were left loose on the bottom side of the tailgate.
and they are still loose and sticking out about 1/2" can't access them without removing the gate. you can read the whole story in a thread called Your Service Center Experiences?
the logo also represents a $20,000 difference in price and may come into play if you ever sell it.
I would talk to your SC and have that logo replaced.

And your location in relation to the delivered location that I had in Mechanicsburg PA would be interesting to know if they delivered a bad batch of logo’d tailgates.
What service center if you please as well that offered the replacement?
