Things are getting super strange. I just got a text saying they are unassigning the vehicle they had given me a vin for and will assign a new vin when one becomes available. They said they did it to prioritize quality.

my guess is that new vehicles being manufactured right now don’t have the issue from early January so they will unassign from Most people

wtf… yeah they are definitely reconfiguring something because i’m getting different options in inventory now. so weird. i’m getting automated changes on my account. interested to hear from tesla soon.
Not seeing any inventory changes on my end. Same number of trucks and years/options. All available for "immediate delivery". Kind of frustrating.

Hopefully you’ll finally get a build that can be delivered! I would be anxious as well.

Can you guys confirm if the new trucks will have the mounting points above the roof and access to roof power openings?

this should help answer that question. yes, but without the flip open doors. as far as i am aware, power to the roof is still part of the build.

Dang so I’ll have to speak to service about the switch in parts. Most likely they’ll have no eta or any idea of what I’m talking about.

they will definitely be clueless. access is still there, just not through the convenient flip doors. they probably pop off and need to be stored and lost in your garage.

they must have made a decision up top that it doesn’t make sense to have people wait and it would take too long and easier just to get everybody new vehicles

I was waiting on an inbound 2025 VIN 61xxx that was originally due on 21 Jan. When I inquired today they told me its "Still in transit" and will be another week or so. That VIN had a build date of 7 Jan so it is likely just sitting at the delivery location waiting to be inspected and not likely in its 3rd week of transportation to the Bay Area CA. I don't appreciate being lied to, IF so.

my vin was 60,xxx also built in begin Jan with the same delivery date. I am also in the Bay Area (Dublin) so we are likely in the same boat. I don’t thing they are lying, I think based on the process the system updates the status incorrectly at times. Your vehicle could have gone to the Milpitas distribution center and so it shows in transit as it hasn’t reached the delivery location. And it’s likely sitting at the distribution center since they have put a stop. It won’t update to “ battery hold” until it reaches delivery location and starts QA process.

so that’s what’s likely going on. Either way don’t be surprised if you get a text like many of us that says your vin is being unassigned and will get priority for a new vin.

My order was held for 2 wks, kept getting delayed and all of a sudden, my newest delivery appointment was canceled with no eta, but now a completely new vin.
