FSD 13.2.5, tested in the Cybertruck

I saw some people praising this build, so I had been waiting for it. However, when I finally got it, it felt slightly off—at least in the Cybertruck, as other Tesla owners don't seem to have these issues, afaik.

It's my honest opinion. TLDR: it's still v13 smooth, but it has introduced some stupid old v12 bugs that I hoped were a thing of the past.

Hope Tesla will fix it soon ?

Thanks for this video, it’s one of the first I’ve seen were the issues that I have daily with FSD were highlighted. With that said, I also try to use FSD as much as possible, precisely to help the engineers gather more data to continue to improve it. It is marketed as supervised, and it needs to be (for now). The improvements in 13 have been awesome versus version 12. With that, I have interventions on basically every drive. Some say unless it’s “critical”, they don’t really count. The left turn onto a two lane unmarked tertiary road (no painted lines), is a huge issue. In version 12, It would literally cut the corner and be completely in the oncoming lane. Version 13, now just puts it halfway into the oncoming lane (I live at the end of a road like this, and this occurs literally every day). This to me, is absolutely a critical intervention. If I clearly see no oncoming lights or cars approaching, I will let it do it, just to see if it has improved yet. It has not. These turns should hug the right shoulder, they do not. On my commute, I go from semi rural roads onto a 6 lane highway (one direction), so I get a fairly good feel for highway performance as well. It is awesome, until it exits. I mostly drive in Hurry mode, far left HOV lane or the passing lane right next to it. It’s well documented that FSD likes to wait to the last minute to exit, and then has no issue aggressively jumping lanes, sliding its way right in between cars. Yes, it signals correctly, and typically makes it, but not without really pissing off drivers around me. Being the cause of potential road rage in South Florida, to me, is a critical issue. I work around it now by either disengaging a mile before, reducing speed and slowly making my way over to the exit lane, inline, behind slower cars (like a normal conscientious driver would). FSD does not do this. The other method I’ve found that works, is dropping from hurry, to standard, to chill mode, at least a mile before the exit. But to be clear, this is still an intervention. To me, pissing off drivers around you, in south Florida, because you are making them react to your driving, is potentially always a critical reason to intervene with FSD. I’m here for the long haul, and 100% in Teslas camp. But I think we really owe it to them to be honest about were the current state of Version 13 really is. It’s awesome, but not yet on par with a human being that is a safe, aware, is predictive of traffic flows, and has engrained into it, basic courtesy to all other drivers as its leading ethos while driving.

There’s other issues that I disengage regularly for, and most are related to basic courtesy to other drivers. Again, to me, living in South Florida, this is in fact, a critical issue.

We owe it to Tesla, and other drivers, to be honest about it.

Ct Foundation V13.2.4, when FSD is engaged and there's emergency vehicles or police on the side of the highway, the truck won't move over to the left lane. I terminate FSD and when I turn on FSD the next time it locks me out until I make a complete stop.

I will add that it is the same with rural mail carriers and even people picking up trash or mowing the ditches and banks. I want to move over to the left lane and give them a wide (courteous) berth but the CT is happy with a brush off. It is not comfortable and no room for error.

I also frequently drive on a divided 4 lane highway (2 lanes each direction). The speed limit is 60mph. It is sometimes limited access with on/off exit ramps and sometimes not, with private driveways emptying directly onto the highway (US 29). It is much safer to stay in the left lane, but the truck keeps wanting to prioritize moving to the right lane. I can see a line of cars merging 1/2 mile ahead, but the CT will approach the merging traffic in the right lane at speed, then slow and finally move over to the left lane. When past the traffic, it moves back to the right only to repeat this all over again at the next ramp a couple miles ahead. The left lane can be completely empty, and the CT will still move over into the right lane with traffic. I wish there was a way to prioritize the left lane.

Wow…just happened to Chuck with latest update on a road with painted lines!

Hm.. Interesting. They'll fix it, shouldn't be difficult, but it's definitely interesting because it shows that this behaviour isn't just related to the Cybertruck, but probably tied to the current software (trained model) version.

Weird. Tried FSD 13.2.5.1 today and it's much better with everything thatn 13.2.5. Feels almost like the 13.2.2 but (!) there's still a bug with eventually turning onto the upcoming traffic lane.

I agree and just realized you're in my neck of the woods bro. WPB.
