Wow. This looks terrible. Glad there is actual footage of what it looks like. Way too much stainless showing to call this a wrap……

Great idea, but poorly executed. Rounded corners where they should be square and that triangle doesn’t go to the corner, nope just rounded off….Is this for real?

Thanks!

Removable panels will never appear as seamless as a wrap, but you cannot easily change the color if you use a conventional wrap. We had to cut the extra pieces because the magnetic sheets did not look good when bent over some of the sharp creases of the Cybertruck's body. Doing so would have rounded the creases and would have changed the angular shape of the body style that we all like. Did you see the prototype photos and video in circulation around the internet?

Unfortunately, we can't please everyone. "Poorly executed" is the wrong choice of words to describe what we've done here. If you're going to make magnetic panels for the Cybertruck that actually work, it’s the ONLY way to execute it. You cannot have sharp corners on magnetic panels and expect them to remain on your vehicle at high speeds.

We had several engineers work on the final design, and in each instance, they said that the pointed corners would not hold and advised us to change the design back to the rounded edges.

By no means are we suggesting that you replace your conventional wrap with our product. If you like seamless and want to have the same color every day, go for it! Our product is designed for those who want the flexibility to change the look of their Cybertruck and reuse the colors for another day. It's also meant for businesses in which the Cybertruck can be used for both personal and professional use. It can be a business truck during the week, and your recreational vehicle for the weekend. Try that with a wrap.

Lastly, many people don't realize that the inability to remove a wrap or PPF for cleaning your truck may lead to damage of the stainless steel finish over time. Since our covers can be removed to clean the underlying surface, it is safer if you want to maintain a corrosion-free finish.

Regardless. I could see this as a great option for someone who wants to advertise their business most days, but be able to take their work clothes off on the weekend or for a trip. I think that vertical has huge potential for this concept!

Are you able to make one that looks similar in color to the stainless steel body? If so, it may blend easier between the magnetic cover and the rounded corners.
Yes. Steel is an upcoming color.

These were prototype pictures leaked from our social media page long before we were going to announce availability publicly. Those panels you see on the doors are a lower energy (less magnetism) 21 mil magnetic sheet product. It's thinner and doesn't bond as well as the final product will. We can always elect to make further cuts, but with the right strength and thickness magnetic sheet, we really don't have to.

The only thing that worries me about this is theft. With the amount of people hating on CT these days I worry that spending 2k plus on large magnets that people can literally just pull off in an instant would really suck.

Theft and it seems like a lot of work to wash it.

Sentry mode would do nothing to protect these...just capture video of it happening.

Like I said previously, you probably have a higher chance of losing all 4 of your wheel covers to theft than 29 individual pieces all over your truck’s body. Nobody who doesn’t already own a Cybertruck would know they could just peel them off.

if you live in a safe place where you can trust people, and there’s not a lot of CT hate going around, then these are for you. If you live in a big city and get hostility from people all the time, then probably not!

People touch our trucks daily, it would be easy to see that pieces are stuck on with magnets. No one is saying someone would take them all, but 1? Absolutely, I'd almost guarantee it at some point.

IMO, it's a good temporary product for a show or something, but I would worry about severe storms while driving on the interstate, theft, and yes...taking off 29 pieces every time it rains to wipe it down, then re-applying them and also washing them.
