Wipers will activate for no apparent reason, sunny day, windshield clean, etc. Wiper will swipe down and sit at bottom fo a period of time, then return to park position. I first blew this activity as clearing dust from camera area but it happens even after washing/cleaning CT. I have had CT since September 24 and have not given this much thought but it seems to be happening more often (2-3 times on a 15 mile work commute). Up to this point I would voice command “wiper off“, wiper would park and screen says wiper control is in Off position (Not auto position). But, it will once again activate at some period of time. If no else is experiencing, I guess I will open a service ticket?

I also experience these annoying, pointless wipes, and I suspect they’re caused by a slightly fogged or dusty triple camera view.

The obstruction I’m referring to isn’t on the outside of the windshield, but on the inside—the side within the cabin, which is impossible to clean without removing the camera housing or cover. I’ve cleaned it once before (as I did with my previous Teslas), and I noticed that quite a bit of film can accumulate there. The steep angle of the windshield exacerbates this accumulation, making the problem worse

Hello,

I have observed the same issue. I recently purchased my Cybertruck on February 26th. I have only driven it 300 miles, but I have noticed the wipers turning on for no apparent reason. I simply switch them from automatic to off. It is likely that a software update will be necessary in the future to resolve this problem.

I second this. The early plastic outgassing will coat the inside of the windshield in front of the camera, and it doesn't take much to cause a glare in direct sun.

There's some minor disassembly required to clean this area, but it can't be too hard because I managed it, lol

I think the SC will do it for you, if you can get an appointment hahahaha

Dry wiping my windshield is my single biggest complaint in Telsa vehicles. It's been an issue for years now.

nothing you can do about it, only just keep shutting it off and grumbling about it...at least that what I do.

engaging FSD turns auto-wipers back on. Its annoying. What I do is as soon as I turn on FSD, I use voice commands to turn auto-wipers off.
I do this as soon as I get first Phantom wipe, but the auto-wipers come back on again? It will need a software bug fix, it isn’t mechanical problem.

You what is needed, Tesla should setup a site (such as this one) where we CT owners/users can sent “feedback” NOT “complaints” instead of “assuming” Tesla engineers are aware of a need to add to “to-do-list”. It wouldn’t be ware engineers would be expected to reply/update. Hell, Elon could use X-AI to sort/prioritize the needs. We can’t assume “CT Owners Club” posts is making to Tesla.
Elon didn’t have a problem setting up a way to report government “Waste-Fraud-Abuse (which was needed).
Okay, I’m off my soap box, I feel better now. ??

This is really annoying on my CT, we need more options to disable auto wipers.

Wow, I am really disappointed that you guys are missing this entire point about the wipers. The wiper setting is set by engineers that live where 2/10's of an inch or rain is a gully washer and a record setting event! Honestly, my first trip to CA I was greeted with a front page headline that 2/10's of an inch of rain was above the fold on the front page! ... Wait ... newspapers are the way we used to get news and it was two days old too.

FSD does set it to auto and if I forget to voice it to off, it wakes me up!

A few months ago my truck had a recurring pop up message that the windshield camera had low visibility. The wiper would get triggered even when the windshield was clean. Tesla service made a mobile stop at my house and cleaned the area inside the windshield camera housing using 100% proof alcohol. A week later the dry wiper again moves down and pauses as everyone here describes even while the windshield is clean and the camera housing was recently cleaned.
My conclusion is this is a software glitch.

I was at the service center in Austin, Texas a week or two back to try to get this fixed. I confirmed that it’s a software bug and that eventually an over the air update will probably fix it.
