The extreme 20% on both sides make the most noise which the media gladly magnifies. Common sense Americans who have both empathy for their neighbor and responsibility to their family are the quiet majority who understand Elon is not the problem but bringing to light the problem. I am more likely to support him more than in years past.
I hope you are right about common sense. My faith in people is dwindling though.

Just received an email with finance deal from Tesla:

1.99% APR Now Available
Drive home Cybertruck with the lowest APR to date. You can get 1.99% APR* financing for up to 60 months or 2.99% APR* for 72 months for a limited time.

With Foundation Series, you’ll also get free Supercharging** for as long as you own the truck.

Yet strangely, the new discounts don't seem to apply to 2024 demos. They were slightly discounted before, and are still slightly discounted. But the discounts on demo 2024s don't match the $4,000 to $6,000 discounts offered on new 2024s.

Hard to see how the 2024 demos will sell, when new 2024s are cheaper. Maybe it's just a matter of time until Tesla adds the new discounts to the 2024 demos.
Tesla apparently figured it out, and has increased the discounts on 2024 demos.

For example, here is a 2024 demo with 1,892 miles for $74,020. That's a "price adjustment" of $5,970 from the $79,990 new price, or about 7.5% off. I think that's the lowest price for a Cybertruck that I've seen in Tesla inventory (before tax credits or gas savings).

However, since it is a 2024, it is not eligible for the $7,500 tax credit. So a 2025 with the tax credit is still cheaper. Would not be surprised to see further discounts or incentives on non-Foundation 2024s.

I saw that but you cannot lease the demos so cannot get the $7500 off whereas the new 2024 you get the $4000 discount Plus $7500

It might be dependent on state. Some states require demos to be registered/titles and they are unleasable after but in FL I’ve seen many demo Teslas available for leasing. It depends on the financing arm too. There are 23s on the from Stellantis that are unleasable since no financing arm will provide a lease for them.

Is it possible to get a tax credit for a CT (under $80K) I bought in Dec 2024? What is the difference between 2024 and 2025? Thanks

The post above was from last Saturday, so six days ago. Today I looked again and saw a 2024 demo with 2,529 miles for $73,620. So that's a "price adjustment" of $6,370, or about 8.0% off. It's a new record low for a Cybertruck in Tesla inventory (again, before tax credits or gas savings).

Maybe this one is cheaper because of the mileage. Or maybe Tesla is slowly and stealthily increasing the discounts on 2024 demos as we move further into 2025.

There may be an accounting reason why they are not using the low mileage demo‘s as loaner vehicles at SC’s.

My buddy has been watching 2024s daily as he does not want a new/new vehicle.
They have been "adjusting" the prices of Foundation AWD and Beasts to the tune of $4,000-$8,500 for the past couple of weeks. He said of the 20+ in his delivery location it does not appear that many have moved so Tesla will likely need to pull a bigger lever. The lack of $7,500 discount and Foundation series with miles which guarantees a lower VIN # and guarantees higher probability of problems is making them slow to sell.

Tesla will not clear out the 2024 Cybertruck inventory with the current discounts or incentives by March 31, which is the end of 1Q 2025. Still too many out there. Either (1) they pull more levers before March 31, or else (2) they will still have 2024s in inventory in 2Q 2025. Or maybe both (1) and (2) happen.

And before you say, "Well, my local Ford dealer still has a bunch of 2024 F-150s on the lot", note that the dealer has already paid Ford for them (at wholesale prices). Even if a 2024 F-150 is still sitting unsold on a dealer's lot, Ford has already taken a profit on that vehicle and moved on.

But Tesla sells "direct to consumer", without a dealer as middleman. If a 2024 Cybertruck is sitting unsold at a Tesla store, it means zero revenue or profit for Tesla. Tesla gets nothing until a consumer opts to buy.

Just did my 2024 taxes...AMGI too high for "retail" tax credit. Either I quit my job in 2025--a real possibility--or I start looking at lease/buy conversion or commercial EV tax credit route... Suddenly the discounted 2024s and 2025s are back in play for me.

Macroeconomic factors could put more pressure on "expensive" vehicles in 2025Q2....anyone's guess.

Agreed, unless a BIG lever is pulled the foundations and 2024s will be in inventory still two weeks from now, maybe less than there are today, but does not seem likely it will be by a lot, or very unlikely they will be all gone unless an unprecidented lever gets pulled. (0% financing, free lifetime supercharging, free wrap, and 10k inventory discount........still might not move them all)

The CT demand lever will need to be pulled again. Cybertruck demand has shifted since November, 2019.

This used 2,381 mile $73,700 demo unit is the least expensive 2024 in local inventory.

Anyone who qualifies for the $7,500 tax credit isn‘t even considering a leftover 2024 model let alone a used demonstrator unit.

well....I finally bit the bullet, decent trade in on my lightning (which I will miss).....great deal though....lease so got the $7500 govt credit, $4000 leftover discount, $1000 referral credit and $500 credit for referrer, will just have to debate if I buy it out right away or lease (probably will at least lease for some time)

79,999 - $13,000(credits included) = $67,000 is not bad at all grant it with lease fees, etc...its a bit more than that but not much more and NJ sales tax is still at 3% for EVs so that isn't so bad at all
You won’t miss the lightening…trust me!
