I was driving home from work last night in a blinding snow storm with wet heavy snow, and the headlights got completely covered up. I had to pull over several times in a 20 mile stretch to clear them off. This needs to be addressed.

I, did come up with a idea for this. But, haven't had time to order the parts and try to wire and mount. No, time. Also I am in ga. May take another look before fall gets here.

This is a made-up issue and simply reflects that driving in snow and ice requires attention and ongoing driver responsibility for ensuring the vehicle is able to proceed safely. We have ice and snow removers for a reason. Snow obscuring headlights has been an issue since there were cars and trucks. Ever get out and clean your windshield wipers? This is NOT a safety issue. It is a driver competence issue.

Why are so many people so quick to blame the Cybertruck? I’ll never understand. OP mentioned a safety issue with the headlights, but all I could gather from the post was that they were driving in a snowstorm. Am I missing something here?

You are absolutely correct. This is not unique to the CT and is most definitely neither a design flaw nor a safety concern. But everybody’s gotta drop clickbait on forums.

It's not a made up issue. The location of the headlights recessed above the bumper and the fact that LED headlights don't give out any heat. Creates a dangerous situation where the headlights get completely blocked out by heavy wet snow.

Dude I have multiple cars and trucks, and whenever I drive in a heavy snowstorm all the headlights freeze over with ice and snow.

The headlights can easily be cleaned off just like any other vehicle that may accumulate snow.

More dangerous is that the front light bar illuminates snowflakes like crazy at night and is incapable of being turned off.

I agree, but we don't need slurs on the forum.

Defrosting tape exists, and if you drive in heavy snow you should add that - just like you should add snow tires, and disable or filter the frunk light. As well as carry some extraction gear and/or blankets and water in case the snow immobilizes you.

It's not called a storm because it's pleasant weather to drive through.

The CT definitely has a disadvantage because of the bumper acting as a shelf in front of the headlight

I get that there's a lot of CT hate going around so everyone is quick to defend Tesla, but as owners we also need to acknowledge and raise issues that come up so they can improve on them.

The problem is. Snow slides down hood. Lands on bumper. Freezes.
No heat from led lights.
I was in heavy rain. Then fog.
Headlights are useless. Actually very dangerous. I added roof and under bumper lights bars last August.
