I sold my BMW 3 series to get a used Model Y as the issues were stacking up on the bimmer, and not cheap to repair. Coolant temp sensor, oil leaks (because BMW), brakes (pads/rotors), suspension creaks, etc. I had a 2002 BMW X5 4.6is that I loved except for the fuel efficiency and repairs. Poured in almost $15K in repairs/maintenance the last five years I owned it. Never left me stranded but ouch.Other than the wiper issue and missing slat on tonneau cover, I have not had any build quality issues. Now compare that to my new Subaru with bushings and ball joints failing under 30k miles, front struts needing replaced, rear wiper stopped working, and now after 100k miles it’s starting to cry oil tears from a Cam leak.
I know that is anecdotal evidence but it’s a common set of problems with Subarus now.
I actually agree with the OP. My previous Volvo and Audi SUVs were crappy in comparison. Issues from month 1 for both SUVs with little pieces falling off or rattling as well as brake issues within the first year. It's not the best built by a long shot. Let's be honest.
Is the missing slat a foundation series issue? Should non foundation buyers get this fixed also?Other than the wiper issue and missing slat on tonneau cover, I have not had any build quality issues. I find myself doing zoom meetings from inside mine rather walking into my office.I find myself often simply staring at it as if it is a fine piece of art sculpture.
….which it is
It is proverbial bank vault quiet!I find myself doing zoom meetings from inside mine rather walking into my office.
I would guess early FS series, probably fixed in latter part in 2024.Is the missing slat a foundation series issue? Should non foundation buyers get this fixed also?
That's about what I paid for them to install the power share (equipment came w/ the truck), and it flips over automatically.Total cost was ~$1,500 for the panel work and generator inlet plus maybe $200 for the generator cord. Something like that.
I went back and checked, I was quoted $6,600 for the Powershare installation (not including equipment) and ended up paying $1,225 for the generator inlet. Works for me.That's about what I paid for them to install the power share (equipment came w/ the truck), and it flips over automatically.
No - trolls on cybertruck forums actually don’t have a life.Another fact: a lot of Cybertruck owners don't have a life.
maybe the cleaning need is environmentally dependent? In NJ we get snow, salt and muck but I'm sure you have it far worse in Buffalo. I've seen zero corrosion thus far on the stainless after nearly a year.I've owned mine for nearly a year and still can't figure out how to clean the inside of the windshield and the dash. Also the surface rust spots after the winter are abundant, if i want to make the thing look like new, it's going to be a ton of cleaning work.
I love the truck and from a technological perspective it is awesome. But easy to clean is not true at all.
