I kind of enjoy all the bad press on cybertrucks. I love mine and if for some reason they don’t sell anymore, I got this guilty selfish feeling of enjoying the Cybertruck even more. I truly believe Cybertruck is the best ever and I don’t care what other people thinks about it. Secretly hoping they stop making cybertrucks, not really but maybe it did cross my mind.

100% agree! I am not altruistic! If people don’t get to experience this amazing machine for themselves because they’re spiteful and stupid - OK!!!

Fewer means that it’s more exclusive and more valuable! Works for me!

We are exclusive and more knowledgeable than all Truck owners, hell car owners in General. This is the reason we have a CT and they don’t. They are stuck with their horse and carriage Trucks while we push forward towards the future! Our interior alone puts everyone to shame!

I haven’t seen another CT since I acquired mine March 30. Prior to that, twas every day. So maybe it’s already happening.

Maybe Tesla should have a “reserved” status for current and previous owners. We should always have new CTs available to us, even if they’re not available generally.

I disagree, I see it as altruistic. It finances the future.

Grok: explain how buying a Cyberbeast, which may be viewed in popular opinion as selfish, is actually altruistic.

Buying a Tesla Cyberbeast, a high-performance electric truck, might seem selfish due to its $99,990 price tag, flashy design, and appeal as a status symbol. Popular opinion could frame it as an indulgent purchase prioritizing personal gratification over practicality. However, there are ways to view it as altruistic when considering broader impacts and intentions.

First, purchasing a Cyberbeast supports the electric vehicle (EV) industry, specifically Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. Early adopters of premium EVs like the Cyberbeast help fund research, development, and economies of scale that make EVs more accessible over time. For instance, Tesla’s high-end models like the Roadster and Model S paved the way for more affordable options like the Model 3. By investing in a Cyberbeast, you’re indirectly supporting innovation that benefits the environment, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and cutting emissions—a collective good.

Second, the Cyberbeast’s visibility can inspire others. Its futuristic design and performance (845 horsepower, 320-mile range) draw attention, sparking conversations about EVs. This “halo effect” normalizes electric vehicles, encouraging wider adoption. If your purchase influences even a few people to consider EVs, it amplifies environmental benefits beyond your individual use.
Third, using the Cyberbeast for practical purposes—like towing (up to 11,000 pounds) or powering equipment with its battery—can serve others. For example, you could help a community during outages with its Powershare feature or use it for volunteer work, like hauling supplies for disaster relief. These acts turn a personal purchase into a tool for communal support.

That said, the altruistic angle depends on intent and context. If the purchase is purely for flexing wealth or speed (0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds), it’s harder to justify as selfless. Critics might argue the same money could fund more direct charity, like donating to conservation efforts. Plus, EV production, including the Cyberbeast’s 123 kWh battery, has environmental costs—mining lithium and cobalt isn’t exactly saintly.

Still, if you’re leveraging the Cyberbeast to promote sustainability, inspire change, or directly help others, it can align with altruistic goals. It’s not inherently selfless, but it’s not just selfish either—it’s what you do with it that tips the scale.

Same, the more I drive mine around town the more others want one... I see one almost every time I leave the house now. <3

I don't enjoy the craziness, since I don't like people honking at me, or giving me the you're #1 sign. Annoying.

As for exclusivity, everyone likes that. I bought my 2018 Model 3, in December of that year, and the light silver metallic was almost immediately discontinued right after, so, if I see any light silver Model 3 I know they are 2018s.

If no one wants to buy a Cybertruck, that's fine. I've got mine, and I'll be happy to keep it for 20yrs, as my adventure ski truck. It's been great for all of 2wks that I've owned it.

Everyone wants their car to be unique, until they get the insurance bill, the repair bill, or have to have accessories custom made.

I am hoping they sell a ton of these things so I will stop getting questioned about it everywhere I go.

I see your reasoning, but I really, really hope Cybertrucks don't cease production. That would be absolutely devastating for me.
