The $59,990 Cybertruck base All-Wheel Drive model with standard coil spring suspension (featuring adaptive dampers) is no longer available at that price. It was offered as a limited-time introductory deal from February 19 to February 28, 2026
The price increased to what Tesla can make money on $69,990.

That's the real difference where Tesla can maintain margins when they remove air suspension, 7 speakers, change the seat material, and remove the rear screen.

Unless you're a Tesla insider nobody knows Tesla's COGS to manufacture a Cybertruck. It would be pure speculation on anyone outside of corporate.

The $10k price increase was to stop the lead time on orders. The loooong lead time of April 2027 was not in the company's best interest as consumers would grow impatient and buy a competing product.

Nothing kills online orders faster than a $10k price increase.

The value has certainly increased since the Foundation Series that I bought. I knew I was paying an extra premium, above and beyond the actual value of the Foundation perks, for the right to take early delivery of the best pickup ever. If you think the Foundation "goodies" were worth $20,000, then I have some knick-knacks to sell you. Contact me me via PM.

The directive to the Cybertruck team was to make the best pickup in the world, whatever it takes. The problem was things like the ultra-durable stainless steel, four-wheel steering and steer-by-wire, and the awesome automatic tonneau cover priced it right out of the mainstream truck market (at least for now).

All of these features and extra durability add cost, only so much can be done to bring it down through manufacturing refinement and efficiency gains. Especially when the relatively low sales volumes are working against volume efficiencies.

It appears Elon's plan is a long-term plan. No one is going to make a better truck, Tesla just has to continue to streamline production processes and continue to make batteries cheaper and more energy dense. In the interim, they are doing what they can to keep the price affordable enough to maintain volume efficiencies. The removing of the air suspension, while leaving the tonneau cover, steer-by-wire, four-wheel steering and ultra-damage resistant stainless steel was the right move to keep volumes up. $10K is a lot of money to someone who is already stretching to buy a new truck and now Tesla has a nice price spread, of three models, tailored to how much different buyers can swing.

Here is what Grok says… pricing not bad based on today’s price.

The Foundation Series Cyberbeast adds a $20,000 premium over the standard Cyberbeast's base price, including exclusive features, software, and accessories with an estimated total retail value of around $19,810 (often touted as exceeding the premium paid). Below is a breakdown of the key additional items and their listed estimated values, starting with Full Self-Driving (FSD) as requested. Note that some values are based on comparable Tesla pricing or market estimates at the time of launch, and items like limited-edition laser-etched badging or early delivery priority have no assigned monetary value but add exclusivity. Beast-specific items (not on the AWD Foundation Series) are noted.

| Item | Estimated Value | Notes |

|------|-----------------|-------|

| Full Self-Driving (FSD) Capability | $7,000 | Included software suite; value based on early reservation pricing (current retail FSD is higher, around $8,000–$12,000 depending on timing). |

| Lifetime Premium Connectivity | $1,000 | Equivalent to ~10 years of standard $99/year subscription for features like streaming and live traffic. |

| Powershare Installation Credit | $4,000 | Beast-only; credit for home backup hardware installation (e.g., gateway for vehicle-to-home power). |

| LED Light Bar | $600 | Beast-only; off-road 48V light bar (some estimates put it higher at $2,000 based on aftermarket). |

| Powershare/Powerwall v3 Gateway | $1,000–$2,000 | Hardware for home energy backup; part of Powershare system. |

| Universal Wall Connector (Powershare Home Charger) | $600 | Enables vehicle-to-load/home power sharing. |

| Powershare Mobile Connector | $230 | Portable charging accessory with Powershare features. |

| 20" Cyberwheels with 35" Tires | $3,000 | Premium wheel and tire package (based on comparable upgrades). |

| All-Weather Interior Liners | $295 | Protective floor mats and liners. |

| Gear Locker Dividers | $45 | Organizational dividers for storage. |

| Center Console Tray | $40 | Storage organizer. |

| Vault D-Rings | $40 | Tie-down points for bed vault. |

| L-Track Hooks | $25 | Cargo securing hooks. |

| L-Track Bottle Opener | $25 | Novelty accessory. |

Forgot the "sound silencing speakers" likely refers to the Active Road Noise Reduction (active noise cancellation) system, which uses the vehicle's speakers and seat microphones to reduce low-frequency road noise. This is a standard feature on Premium AWD and Cyberbeast trims (including all Foundation Series models), enabled via a recent software update (2026.2.6.1)

Do you really believe the Foundation perks (minus the early delivery) were worth $20K to typical truck buyers? No, they were not, people paid the premium to get their hands on one early.

And the difference becomes even more stark when one looks at the much higher volume Dual Motor version.

I'm missing the point you're trying to make.

My point……This is the crap your typical Ford 150 buyer put on their trucks…often exceeding the cost of the Foundation series and nowhere even comparable…I have FSD for life and paid $7,000. To me that was a tremendous bargain and no longer even available. I use it daily. I agree they loaded it with a few things I would not have purchased, but it is not as bad as it appears when you look the numbers.

A paortion of the 20k was basically early access. You absolutely paid more than the sum of the parts.

It's fine...most of us here did. It's nothing to be ashamed of.

Yup, Cybertruck is a better value than a F-150, if it fits the budget. If not, and a truck is necessary, a buyer might be limited by what they can afford. However, if buying a truck on credit (which I would avoid like the plague), I would argue it would be better to swing a $10K higher payment on a Cybertruck than a lower one on an F-150 (for long-term cost savings).

My original point was that, regardless of cash or credit, a non-Foundation for $20K less offers more value than a Foundation for $20K more. It was all about getting an early delivery (because the non-Foundation is basically the same truck, minus a few goodies that can be added later as desired). Except for the laser Foundation Series etching which I value at about $20.

The early delivery was worth it times ten (for me) but early delivery is no longer possible or needed. That makes the current offering a better value than if you could still get a Foundation Series. Sure, not $20K better, but better.

.Tell me what on this list was early access….. I thought the same way initially until l added up the numbers and the value of FSD now alone makes it a good deal.

Add on I where all manufacturers make a good profit…..it adds up to nearly $20,000.

| White Decor Interior Upgrade | $1,000 | Bespoke white upholstery and trim (upcharge from standard black; may include Alcantara accents on Beast). |

| All-Weather Interior Liners | $295 | Protective floor mats and liners. |

| Glass Roof Sunshade | $115 | Accessory for panoramic glass roof. |

| Gear Locker Dividers | $45 | Organizational dividers for storage. |

| Center Console Tray | $40 | Storage organizer. |

Now you're just repeating yourself. I did the calculations when Foundation Series became a thing and valued the added goodies at around $12K, if I recall. You can value them however you want.

As a side note, I mounted the L-track Bottle Opener when I got my Foundation Series AWD but have never used it. No one I know drinks beer or soda from bottles anymore. No way is it worth $25!
