I have OEMs currently, but will be switching to Mars ones when I can. I like to bomb proof everything I can and, although I haven’t any problems with the OEMs coming loose, you can just tell they’re not the sturdiest things ever made.

Mars sells L-Track adapters so you can mount the crossbars under the tonneau if needed. If Starlink would work down there (not sure if it will yet), that would be ideal. Open the tonneau when you need it or close the tonneau when going through a car wash and to protect the Starlink from theft/vandalism.
My main concern is that I keep hearing that the Mars are louder than the Tesla OEM‘s. I also thought about that with the starlink in the bed but the problem with that is that if it’s raining outside, you don’t want to be opening the tonneau cover.

I guess I don’t think about that much. Don’t see much rain in TX. Our windshield wipers almost outlast our vehicles here.

Here’s a couple pictures of the OEM track system with a thing mounted…(hinge that was part of a makeshift collapsible rack not currently installed).

A couple interesting features not seen in aftermarket versions: rubber insert that holds the bolt in place while loosened, fits commonly available 3/8” carriage bolts, and the ends are secured when locked.

That’s very cool. Thank you. Now I get it.

I don’t want racks on all the time so I love how easily the OEM bars are to install and remove. 3 minutes max. I do highly recommend some t slot mounts on the sides given there aren’t any connection points on the bars themselves, which is problematic for the forward bar above the cabin. I got these and they are well made and work perfect.

I can't speak on the OEM bars—never tried ‘em. I did what you're doing now: researched like crazy and went straight for the MARS bars. No regrets. I’ve had over 750 pounds up in that rooftop tent—me, the wife, a 17-year-old, a 13-year-old, and a Cane Corso who outweighs half the Cybertruck. Not a single creak. Zero stress. MARS held it down like a champ—pun fully intended.

Thanks for the detailed photos! I got the Tesla OEMs but thankfully just one kit of 2 bars. I'm so tempted to go for the MARS. I only need two. I was going to get a side sail molle on one side with their utility bar on the other, starlink mini mount and the weboost mount. They quoted me 1300 for all of that.

Is the starlink locked in the mount or do you have to remove it overnight. I'm worried about theft.

How’s the wind noise? Just wanted to share feedback from a Cybertruck owner who recently switched from MarsAG to our setup.

Super quick to remove—takes me about 60 seconds with a ratchet I keep handy. I also carry a spare power adapter, just in case a sheep decides to get creative with wire-cutting. My Cybertruck stays garaged and is never left unattended for long with the Starlink mounted. Here in Cali, I’ve never had anyone mess with it.

I won’t deny I almost went with Urander, it was definitely my second choice. That said, I wasn’t about to drop serious money just to test products. I’d been in several Cybertrucks with different racks, and hands down, MARS and Urander had the least wind noise. Since I was already buying from MARS, it made sense to stick with them. Their mission aligned with mine, and at the time, their design was backed by solid science, unlike most of the others out there. No regrets going with MARS.

Sheep. As in, “I’ll only drive a gas guzzler ‘cause that’s what real trucks do,” or “Oh no, people are looking at me—better return the Cybertruck and disappear back into the sea of beige Camrys.

@area51 If you want, I can run a quick test for you tomorrow—have my wife hold the phone at head level while I do the speed limit wink. It'll give you a general idea of the noise level, though, take it with a grain of salt. I’ve also got the MARS wind deflector on the way, which should cut window noise even more. Keep in mind, I’m running a 50" lightbar, MARS Base Camp rooftop tent, rear cam, and a bunch of attachments—still impressively quiet. Let me know!

I'll be working on a solution soon with (probably) EMT so the cables can be protected.
