Are everyone’s tabs this outrageous or is this a Minnesota thing ? My Model 3 tabs are nowhere near this much .

I was specifically referring to how it's calculated where the poster is, which is in MInnesota.
I would imagine each state/country has their own method of taxation.
Aussie Tax/Rego Departments have a history of hitting HARD.....
If the CYBERBEAST comes to Oz (?) at around $150K AUD we're still up 'The Shitter'

Sooner or later I'd expect that to go up on all EVs in all states, if it's reasonable there now. Why? No gas tax, so they're going to go after the highway money they're losing.

Our registration goes out in June so I stepped it up by a few months and am rather surprised to see an "Electric Vehicle Fee". That's a new one but I imagine that is an effort to recover some of the tax that we are NOT paying at the pump. Not sure if it is a County or State fee. This schedule is for Montgomery County in Texas.

$278 here in North Texas for a single year.
($200 was the ev road tax. Funny enough it’s the same price for my 2017 MS.)

Yeah man I'm not surprised at all. My Yukon XL used to be over $800 for tabs, and the CT is considerably more expensive. Unfortunately, MN seems to enjoy financially abusing it's residents.

$85 in TX if not an EV
$285 in TX if an EV
Plus a $400 initial registration fee for EVs when new. Then they pop you the $200/annually.

As for Minnesota, it is based on the value and drops over 10 years. Jesse Ventura briefly made it better. I remember years ago I moved there and had used Mitsubishi Montero that was $45k new. I bought it used and 2 years old for $20k before moving there.

According to their little guide, they said the truck was still almost $40k. I told them sold! Its yours if you think it is worth that much. The tags cost me almost $500 that year or something crazy like that. I avoided buying any expensive cars in that state, at least until Jess was the Gov. Then I bough my MBs and Porsches. Then the next socialist prick in office jacked the rates back up.

Even property taxes were high, along with income taxes to pay for the privilege of living in the frozen tundra. I couldn't wait to get out of that state as fast as I could. One of my biggest pay raises in my life was when I left and went to a state with no income tax. The savings alone covered my mortgage costs in the new state.
