Ok I am confused as F*** now. This is the first branding as such by Tesla as of yet?

Do you like this branding?

That is a new one. You’d think they go graffiti logo on the front and CT logo on the rear adjuster, not Tesla word mark and T logo. Very strange. Maybe they’re subconsciously starting to think CT isn’t special and is just another niche Model X type vehicle?

Yea, so many people are like, what is it….every vehicle puts branding on it. For one, you trust the brand. It’s almost like a step child, we didn’t like it enough to put our name on it ;)

According to some analysts, Tesla appears to making a deliberate effort to rebrand the Cybertrunk as less edgy and futuristic, and more down-to-earth. Less Delorean, more F-150. This is based on the recent redesign of the Cybertruck website: it's no longer about being "built for any planet"; instead it's about hauling construction materials or toys, and taking the family on vacations. Some of their current imagery does seem like it is following the Ford playbook.

I suspect they are deliberately positioning the CT as a more traditional pickup. I don't think the grafitti logo appeals much to mainstream pickup customers. But this more conventional design might. I could easily imagine it with an F-150 and "F O R D" underneath.

I hope that’s not true becauseI would consider that to be a recipe for disaster. The truck is its own logo and you’re never going to address a market that doesn’t want the product by trying to pretend it’s something that it’s not.

And you need to look no further than this thread to see how the actual intended and natural market of the vehicle is responding.

If what you’re saying is true and this is intentional on their part I’d consider this to be flailing.

I have no idea what Tesla is thinking. I'm just saying that some marketing people claim that Tesla's tone has recently shifted towards more traditional, old-school, F150-style Cybertruck imagery.

For example, the Tesla website now suggests that Cybertrucks can be used to install wire fencing at the ranch. If that sounds like something an F-150 would do, well yes it is.
