Before all the C-vid delays and associated cr*p, I had a daydream of picking up my Tri-Motor (at original pricing) at the factory, being in Austin for the Solar Eclipse and then roadtripping it back. Somewhere in an alternate timeline, it worked out.
Same. There were many of us on the forum thinking along these lines, for years before the eclipse. At least the eclipse worked out! My family met up with my mom in Arkansas.

I had the same fantasy! But when it didn’t pan out, I flew to outside of Cleveland instead. We caught some high clouds but it all worked out here’s a couple of my best shots.

*My “diamond ring” shot suffered the most because of the clouds too much refraction.

The delivery fee for an F-150 is $1,995. It is not negotiable and is part of the final purchase price regardless of where you take delivery.

How is the Cybertruck delivery fee any different from the best-selling truck in America?
I don't care if it is industry wide, it is still sh!t.

I’ve actually toured some of their facilities before. It’s really not the point. They’re now creating an “experience” for the purchase that I would’ve enjoyed having. The moment has passed, even if they were to offer it as an afterthought. I doubt they’ll even do that.

It’s the thoughtlessness I’m commenting on. Chevy has been doing this for decades on Corvettes. It’s not hard there are plenty of models for them to follow Porsche, etc.

It’s just amateurish in my opinion. I’m damn sure gonna call it out if I want without a single ounce of guff!
Enitled brat much? Your rant implies that Tesla should never come up with a single new good idea for fear of enraging its existing customers. You got exactly what you paid for. There will be other opportunities, and this butt-hurt attitude says way more about you than about Tesla.

Speak to your elected representatives. Maybe you can also have them repeal dealer protection laws.

You could avoid the fee by not driving. Even the price of a used car reflects the delivery fee, even if not specifically named. Because the price of used cars are relative to what a new one would cost.

This one stings. I wonder if they’ll ever do anything to try and make us early adopters feel special/valued?

This company does not know how to build brand loyalty through the purchasing experience.

They have engendered resentment for various people at various steps along the way. Some because of the delivery experience/presentation cleanliness build quality etc. of the vehicle, some because of accessories, others because of interest rates, others because of free supercharging. This one is mine.

This one would’ve cost them nothing! I’m absolutely treating it as a slap in the face.
Right?
... watching people get free supercharging for life...
... seeing discounts go out...
... (eventually?) seeing people get a Cybertruck without a freaking rivet in the go pedal...

I doubt they will do anything altho it would be appreciated - for me it is the free supercharging... I got my truck about 3 weeks before they offered it and I certainly would have waited had I not been pressured. I'm still bitter about this one and always will be.
I'll up you one.
We traded in our Model Y under the "FSD transfer" plan. Was told our new car could be picked up. I asked via the Tesla app "Has FSD been transfered?" "It's good to go" was their reply. So, we sold the old Model Y to a local dealer. (they were still in demand) Picked up our new Model Y. Tried out FSD on the way home. Success!

NOPE> That was the "Try FSD for 90 days with a new car". FSD was not transferred. Still quite pissed about that.

Didn't help that we were in the middle of a move when we figured out that the transfer didn't happen (It's my wife's car and she doesn't normally use it except on longer trips).

Still, doesn't exactly endear this early adopter fan to Tesla.

Come on, Man!

You paid a price that you found acceptable and got the product that at was then available. I once paid $136k for a new P85D. I sold it three years later for a MX that cost $132k. Both were traded in for less than $30k each. Today’s version of the $136k car, with WAY more features, and Plaid upgrades, so way faster, everything on the car updated and better, now sells for under $94k new.

Tesla wasn’t supposed to improve the vehicles? Reduce prices as volumes increased? It was all described in Elon’s big plan for initially introducing halo models, with huge margins, and redeploying the profits into affordable models. We all knew we were being played for bucks but had an unbelievable life experience in the process. We got what we paid for and I have no regrets. Time to grow up folks.
