I just assumed they will notify me when they assign a VIN and then delivery will come a few days to a couple of weeks after that. Sounds sensible to me, I'm not sure what more you want.

If you want a shitshow, look at the rollouts of the Ford Mach-e and F-150 Lightning. Now they are deleting content from the 2024 Lightnings so you have to stay on top of the changes yourself, to avoid disappointment.

Tesla can do amazing things but they don't have a crystal ball.
