I'm wondering what others' delivery experiences have been like. I received my "new" (September build) FS CB last night, and I was pretty disappointed. The biggest problem is the "repaired" cantrails. They are poorly aligned and the seals that fill the gap between the cantrails and the windshield are improperly installed, creating significant wind noise. You can even see the new bolts that secure them. Have others received their trucks the same way (either new or after recall)?

The truck was also dirty, scratched, missing D-rings, missing the tonneau cover fixes, and had panel gaps and other minor issues. I don't know what my options are at this point. I have read about others having issues getting similar issues addressed by the service centers and worry about getting everything fixed. I feel like I should have refused delivery, but now I'm stuck. Are these issues normal for CT and I am just expecting too much? My M3 delivery was much better, but this is my first CT and I was expecting better quality control (knowing that there would be some minor issues).

I would appreciate input from this experienced and knowledgeable community.

I have same thing on my truck but it hasn’t impacted me so no rush to fix it.

Mine was built Nov 15, 2024 (VIN 52XXX), haven't gotten the cantrail recall done yet but my seals are perfect. No gaps like in your picture.

Note, I can see the nut and bolt where the cantrail meets the frunk, that's normal.

Here's a pic I took of the passenger side showing the cantrail nut and bolt.

Wow, that looks much better. Thank you for the photo. On mine, I can see some left-over adhesive where the seal was supposed to be attached to the cantrail, but isn't.

Another part that doesn't look right is the trim piece above the tonneau cover. Side-to-side alignment isn't quite right, but the passenger side also sits up significantly higher than the driver's side.

They said that's "normal".

The entire tonneau also seems misaligned. There is a much bigger gap at the top of the driver's side than the passenger side, and it doesn't have the extra slat I see many on here got the service center to install.

The bed is just dirty and missing the tie-down points that are supposed to be in the bed. Are 4 or 6 supposed to be included with Foundation Series?

Not the best pictures. My apologies. It's pouring rain outside.

A lot of your pics didn’t load. But of the ones I saw:
1. Yeah, your cantrail looks like it’s missing the entire seal.
2. The applique that’s at the top of the tonneau should definitely not be raided like that. On my passenger side, it’s a lifted crooked a little bit. I’ll try to see why but it doesn’t bother me that much.
3. You do have the extra slat on your tonneau. So you’re all set there.

Happy to take more pics of mine if you’d find it helpful.

EDIT: had a typo in #3: you do have the extra slat.

My driver side has the seal but its buried deep in there. It's so out of place.

SC said, if there's no water ingress, don't worry about it. They really hate removing cantrails because they're a pain to re-install properly.

I hate knowing the seal is not doing what it was designed to do but I also am afraid that they'll fix the seal and totally ruin my cantrail alignment.

How do you guys know if it has the extra slat?

OP, did you get this CT with the 11k discount? Seems the truck was sitting for several months…

September FS build and you‘re getting it now? Looks like one that might have been rejected and the sc tried to do some repairs. Very sloppy work. I would have rejected it. You might still have time for recourse.

Yes, It is one of the left-over Foundation Series that they have been struggling to sell. They must have left the bed open for some time too as there is dirt, fading, and staining inside the bed. It's too bad. Some simple care and consideration could have preserved it in much better condition. The discount and lifetime supercharging are the only reasons I bought a Foundation Series. Newer builds are probably better built.

Wasn't the last FS build in October or November '24? I think most of the issues were caused by the cantrail repair and poor storage.

It's discussed here: https://www.cybertruckownersclub.com/forum/threads/what-are-these-holes-for.40748/

The extra slat apparently is not the fix for water ingress in the bed though.
Correct. The fix for water ingress by the rear window is the foam / weather seal on the rear appliqué. There are threads on this forum for how to remove it and replace the weather seal, and there's a famous YT vid where an owner shows how he replaced it (and tested it by spraying water on the tonneau).

Sorry James, I didn't answer your other question about the extra slat. Like Klis's link talks about, if you don't have the extra slat, there is a gap between the tonneau and the rear appliqué and you can see the rivets or whatever is beneath that. The extra slat apparently doesn't do much to fix the water ingress, but it definitely looks better by completely filling that gap and keeps other stuff from getting in there. It really should have come with the extra slat from the factory, in my opinion, but I've seen 2025 builds that still don't have that. That was the justification that the SC used to tell me it's supposed to be that way. I'm not sure if there is a reason that slat was not included originally. Since the SC's are adding it for some owners, it must not hurt anything to install it and it looks like it should after installation.

The rear Tonneau Aplique is like $52 or so. I only know this after I scratched the plastic that holds the brush and wanted to get a replacement. I didn’t expect to get the whole back plate, weather stripping, and the plastic brush. 2 T30 hold it in unless you modify it to the quick release. But I just took the plastic strip out of the channel and put it on mine since I have XPEL Armor down on it. The height and such is adjustable but that is a bummer to see it like that from the factory.

Also wild what some things cost comparatively. And now I have a whole extra one case I mess it up.

The weather strip on the back is a piece of rubber also in a channel so thats also easily replaceable. I mounted a camera so also have not had any water issues in the rain.

That's good to know. Thank you for the info. Maybe I'll try adjusting it myself. I like the idea of buying an extra at that price too if you install a camera. Your install looks great!
