I have never noticed a front motor sound in my Beast ever. And I drive in silence without any music on very often too. I would try driving a different Beast and see if that noise is still there. Well, I mean, I do hear a high pitched whistling type sound that I associate with all Teslas (we have a Model Y Performace as well)...is that what you are calling the motor sound? It doesn't bother me at all; if that is what is bothering you? It was my understanding it is very intentional so these electric vehicles aren't totally silent for safety reasons. You want bikers,a nd pedestrians, and such to be able to hear something approaching them from behind. They could allow these vehicles to be virtually silent, but that would be a safetey issue then. I don't think the sound is inhererent to the motors...it is a purposely fabricated sound to break the silence. The front motor is loud like really
My neighbor actually has some other brand of electric vehicle and that intentionally fabricated whistling sound is way louder than our Teslas.
Also, I have read people that have bought silencing kits for very cheap, like less than $100, to put sound-proofing stuff in their door jams of their Cybertrucks to make the cab quieter (including road noise), but as I said it doesn't bother me so I never bothered looking into that. I actually kinda like the sound and would porbably miss it if I did that... ?
Yeah, pretty much this is what me and most everyone one else have been trying to tell you, some very bluntly, some in very eccentric ways (me), over the last ten pages of this thread. Now I am stuck again because I know for what I do awd will be a better drive and better over all use of the truck. But will I be able to live with my self driving down the road and saying why didnāt I get the beast ā¦
It is simply up to you. You cannot get a third motor with Beast mode without dropping an extra $20K, so it is completely irrelevent if it is a "good value;" the decision is based on these two variables only:
(1) Do you want it? And, (2) can you afford it?
The (1) part implies you are taking into consideration any potential regret if you don't get it. The (2) part implies you are taking into account if you really can afford it and won't have buyer's remorse because that extra $20K put you in a difficult financial postion.
If the answer to both of those questions is "yes," then you get The Beast.
If the answer to either one, or both, of those question is "no," then you get the AWD.
