A dent or cosmetic standard ??

I brought my new CT to service center. For me, it is a dent but they said it isn’t as compared with other CTs

what is your opinions?

Definitely some warping going on. If they don't take care of it, a matte wrap would make it invisible.

Can you flex it in and out, like an oiler? There were some issues with the stainless not staying glued to the inside structure of the tailgate. Tesla replaced my entire tailgate to solve this issue on my truck.

I am waiting for an appointment with their supervisor. Initially tesla would replace the door but they changed at the last moment.

No. It is not a dent.

It’s called “oil canning” and I would bet more people have it than admit. It happens on large hunks of stainless steel and happens quite often on metal roofs, especially ones that are cold rolled.

if it’s really noticeable, then they can replace it under warranty. If it’s barely visible, then it may not be worth the headache. Chances are, you are the only one that noticed it as they are generally only visible in certain light conditions or how meticulously one looks at it (and that’s generally yourself).

Based on how you’ve to move the camera to catch it at a certain angle of light, I don’t think it is. Even my truck has the waves in locations. If the Tesla Tech says he can’t really notice it, take it to another and get another opinion. There are different levels of the severity of oil canning. If it’s that severe and can see it in different light, then you may have a claim. If it’s only when it bounces off at a very specific angle, then you probably don’t as it’s relatively normal.
