Was cleaning out my CT and found at the base of the drivers seat. Any idea where it came from? while vacuuming under the seat I saw the plastic housing for the seat electronics open, so I clasped it shut to look like the passenger side. i suspected this came from that housing possibility, but not sure and still don’t know.

Just looked all over mu tri-motor with white interior and see nothing like that, nor any silver trim.

Thank you For checking. This pieces is plastic and the black color that matches the rest of the plastic seat. Photo color is a bit deceptive.

I’ve already removed mine [nearly a year ago], so I can’t be sure, but isn’t that the back part to the rearview mirror?

That’s totally it! I just had my windshield replaced and I’m guessing service lost this part, but my mirror has it anyways, so I’ll toss it. You guys are awesome, mystery solved!

For those of you who still have your mirror installed, is it because you have precious cargo in the back seats to monitor?

Otherwise your FOV improves even more if you remove it. Go ahead and rip that sucker off lol

Keep it to see people in the back and to remind me when I leave the tonneau open.

Tangent…what I want is to have a digital rear view mirror option in my Model 3s. ?

EDIT: by digital rear view mirror, I mean having the rear view mirror on the center screen like a CT.

Why in model 3? Dont own one so not immediately obvious to me. Just curiosity.
I know I want one with multiple inputs in the model x because I think one of that cars huge oversights is no front bumper cam.

Cause I like the perspective and viewing angle in the CT vs a typical rear view mirror. In a CT, I see what’s right behind the truck and the wide angle covers more area. Would be cool to have it in other cars, but I specifically mentioned Model 3s cause (a) that’s what I have and (2) it’s a simple software update.
