I saw an ask recently for any pics of the Pirelli Scorpion AS tires mounted on the Cyber wheels.

I finally wore out my original Goodyear AT tires at 26,000 miles…mostly highway, some Baja induced dirt donuts…and bought a second hand set of the Cyber wheels, TPMS, and gently used Scoprion tires. I have a lifetime avg of 424wh/mi with the AT tires, too early to tell how much more efficient the AS will be.

How do you like how they ride compared to the ATs? I know they don't look as aggressive as the originals. I don't really need the capabilities of a big block tread but DO want to be able to get through snow and some light off-roading.

The ride is def smoother, little quieter. I live in northern NV, so as long as I stay out of mountains, the occasional wet/snow is easily tackled by these tires. I’m still less than 100 miles on these, so time will tell.

I did same and discovered the Scorpions AS are much harsher on rough pavement than the ATs, and the harshness is very sensitive to tire pressures over 50psi. I lowered cold pressure to 49 for my potholed roads around here. The AS tires are indeed smoother and quieter on smooth roads, which I expected, but I was surprised by the harshness on rough surfaces compared to my at AT tires, which are much less affected by higher pressures over rougher roads, so I often ran them in the high-50s with no harsh result. YMMV

I am trying the Scorpion AS at 48 psi. I do agree that on rough roads, these are a little rougher on feel. I normally use Comfort mode for reference.
For reference, I ran the Goodyear AT around 53-54 psi and squeezed every mile out of them, photo for proof…

150 miles in and I’m seeing a lower wh/mi than my lifetime, but it’s a small data set compared to 27k miles….time will tell. These will do okay for summer tires for me, now I need to decide what to mount up as winter tires on the other set of Cyber wheels for winter tires.

Wow, those really wore unevenly….Im wondering if that’s an alignment issue, or if it has something to do with the 4 wheel steering of the CT. Did you rotate them at all? I’ve never had a new vehicle wear tires that bad. Mildly concerning….

I didnt have any alignment or uneven wear out of the factory (AWD 3xxx VIN), drove ~9000 miles before first rotation and again at ~18000 miles, but each time the tires guys said wear was even and wasn’t really necessary. But I swapped to a pure winter set on Cyber wheels and to the AS/Core wheel for summer so not tracking the ATs any longer

I rotated very 6.5k miles, alignment is good, checked by Tesla at 1.5k miles when they complimentary replaced all 4 tires, and again at 25k miles. I ran higher PSI, Baja induced dirt donuts, as well as some high speed dirt runs, all of which will increase wear and exhibit different wear patterns. Given the all terrain nature and usage, I have no concerns with this wear. For reference, the inside of each tire is where the most wear is.

Yeah I see that the insides are worn all the way down to bald, while the outsides still have plenty of tread. That wear would indicate a major alignment issue with a regular truck. Interesting. Hopefully it’s just due to the abuse you put them through. I will be unhappy if mine end up like that with the normal use and some trailering that I do. After 22k miles my Cooper Discoverer A/T tires on my FX4 F-150 still looked basically new…

Good year gave me $800 credit. They have 40,000 mile warranty. Bought ko3 instead.

My original Pirelli Scorpions wore the same way after 23k miles. Insides of all of them completely bald and outside 2/32 tread. I didn't pay too much mind though because I was replacing them with KO3s anyway but it is concerning and I'll definitely be paying attention to the wear on the new tires.

I have my settings to prefer higher ride height but was not consistent with the rotations. Only did one after 10k miles but the wear was fairly even. Rears a little more but not a huge difference.

Yeah, that looks like a camber issue or likely by design. Did you drive mostly in low or medium ride height? Looks like a lot of negative camber, could be because highway ride height is always low. Not a problem, just designed to operate that way. Similar to many BMW's or performance vehicles which generally have negative camber for flatter tire surfaces when cornering to get better, more predictable, handling.

The camber gets quite exaggerated in low suspension modes

I wonder how Tesla sets the alignment? Since the truck drops into low mode at highway speeds, hopefully they set the camber while it’s in low mode. If they already do that, it needs some negative camber taken away. They probably do this for stability reasons though.
