I love the Tesmanian mats which is what I used in my model y; and have them on order for the interior of my new Cybertruck I just picked up last Thursday (so giddy driving this thing - love it).
Wondering though if others have bought a rear bed liner...I mean - it is a truck? Is there a concern that the rear bed will get damaged? If so - what did you buy?

The Tesmanian one looks nice:

Thoughts? Do you do anything to protect the rear bed - mat or otherwise?

I'm pretty sure the mats are all coming out of the same (or a few) facilities. I ordered mine on Amazon for a similar price, although I had to cut out the holes (they were pre-marked) for the D rings.

I definitely recommend the liner, it's good for catching and channeling water that leaks in and it keeps debris from working its way around the edges of the bed panels into the compressor area. The bed plastic is quite durable, but I'm sure it could get gouged up.

I bought this set a bit over 8 months ago, fairly happy with them:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D26C13ZQ
The only issue is that they ship folded and retain some memory. Heat gun helped to straighten the stubborn edges. I run the truck as a light/medium duty "farm" vehicle, and the bed mat is quite adequate for such needs. The main benefit is that it reduces the sliding as the bed plastic is fairly slippery.

The material the Cybertruck's bed is made out of is amazingly tough and hard to damage. Sure, a heavy object with sharp metal corners could make a scratch, but I wouldn't be overly concerned with that. It's a lot tougher and more damage resistant than the painted steel bed in my F-150.

That's why Tesla didn't bother to offer a bed liner as an optional upgrade. Because it doesn't need one.

So I have been all over the map with these and tried more options than you need to know about at a cost I prefer not to discuss. Lol.
They all have advantages. The most minimalist and arguably least impactful on function is abstract oceans xpel armor. Pete is awesome and so is his product. It’s not for everyone but it makes the bed look good in a utilitarian way. It does not have the advantage the tpe mats do of being able to be pulled out and washed but you can stand in the bed with a pressure washer and it cleans up in seconds. You can also match the tailgate back wall, sail panels and bed sides for a super clean continuous look plus or minus molle panels in various places. Importantly, it’s very low profile so it doesn’t raise the level of the tailgate or area under your cybertent shelf. Works very well for the $225 Tesla Tupperware also. Nice sliding action.
https://abstractocean.com/products/xpel-armor-truck-bed-vault-full-set

The TPE liners have other advantages. For one, the bed part can be pulled out, rinsed, dried and easily thrown back in. Some sets come with an under the window piece which is cool because it adds some “stripes” to that area as well as protection. They also frequently come with tailgate pieces. Both of these “extras” require at least some adhesive strips applied to the truck but this comes off there super easily with goof off. No traces left on mine with minimal effort. I also used the tailgate piece to thread the straps of this tailgate seat from evbase? I think. It provides cushioning for anything sliding back in the bed, a ready made changing table and cool tailgate seat but it does mean at least to some extent big things you load in the bed have to be kind of jimmied over it. See picture.
Advice, if you get these TPE mats, go for the ones with the pre-cut d-ring holes. They are a pain in the ass to do. I don’t have the high quality 3dmaxspider or 3w versions. I hear good things about the mats, no idea if the quality of the vault liner is the same.

Then I went soft. I bought this matress which is what I use on the floor for the kids in hayride/holiday light type situations. Along with the tailgate pillow, all you really need to do is pull everything off the l-tracks and its a very kid friendly environment.
Fantastic for stargazing also.

Then I bought this rug thing from Tesla. Not popular I don’t think but I love it.
Cybertruck Bed Textile Mat
https://shop.tesla.com/product/cybertruck-bed-textile-mat?sku=2078146-00-B
Gives the vault a giant car trunk/indoors type feel. Good at wicking. Doesn’t interfere with Tesla $225 Tupperware. Slats still hold the bins.

I’m currently waiting on my order from Tmat. Have very high hopes for the sliding action. Will keep you guys posted.

if I had it to do all over again and cost was no object, I’d get xpel armor at the bottom and then the tmat system. I still like my textile mat from Tesla but it’s nonessential. I’d absolutely buy the air mattress again for extra delicate cargo/passengers and leisure use of the vault.

I have the Tesmanian one and like it for easy clean out of the vault bed. Any loose debris from transporting bags of mulch, dirt or in my case recently fertilizer that had a tiny hole in one of the bags.

Open the tailgate, pull the bed liner mat toward you and over the tailgate to clean it out. Push it back into place and close the tailgate. Easy.

I have the Tesla textile mat. Very happy with it. It’s been dirty and hosed off a few times with no problems. Bottom is rubber so the mat stays in place. Too surface is grippy. Not cheap but worth it to me.

I'm all for spending money on something (like a bed liner) if it actually improves your life in a necessary and significant manner, but everything comes with a cost beyond the purchase price (where do you store it when not using it? How long does it last before you send it to the landfill? etc). But simpler is usually better. And, unless you have unlimited amounts of money, that money is generally better invested in stocks for long-term wealth creation. The power of compounding over the years is more amazing than most younger or middle-aged people realize.

The TPE liners have other advantages. For one, the bed part can be pulled out, rinsed, dried and easily thrown back in.
How is it easier to pull out a TPE bed liner and rinse it on the ground, letting it dry and then re-installing it once it's dry? I don't understand how that's easier than doing it how I've always cleaned my truck beds out after a messy load, simply by hosing them out and leaving them open to dry? I like not wasting time dinking around. If the bed builds up dirt over time, I wash it out at the same time I'm washing the bodywork, with a long-handled truck brush and a bucket of soapy water.

With a removeable bed liner, you just have more surfaces to clean and dry. I like being productive with my time, not dinking around taking care of stuff I don't even need!

Tesla hit it out of the park with the design of the Cybertruck bed that doesn't even need a liner. After hauling a huge variety of loads, my bed still looks great. And even if it develops scratches and gouges over the years, who cares? It's a truck bed! Don't worry about resale value unless your plan is to only keep it a year or two and re-sell for a high price. Bed scratches barely affect the resale value (because it's a truck). Even a picky buyer that wants the bed to look pristine can put a liner in there to address their OCD, if they must! I buy trucks to put into service over the long-term because I never want to be without a truck. And I always have a car for those times I don't want to be driving a truck.

That said, my other cars are getting precious little use now that my truck is a Cybertruck! I'm beginning to wonder if my other car should be another Cybertruck! ?

That is all correct. Crappy way to spend money. Just trying to share the lessons learned so not everyone goes through the same process. My TPE mats are currently stored IN the bed so as not to occupy garage space but they make the floor “thicker” than I want. They are on the cusp of getting tossed.
Again, I wouldn’t buy them over.
I would go with the xpel armor, plus or minus the tmat pullout depending on cargo config needs and a mattress for when I want the bed to be soft which rolls down very compact and tucks in the smugglers bay or one of the Tesla containers. .
Yes, Tesla did knock the CT out of the park but creating a vault surface that’s both durable and easy to keep looking new was more of a bunt for them than a swing. I wasn’t happy leaving it as is. If you are with yours, awesome. Spend $0 and you’ll still have a great car with a nice vault.
Still really like my Tesla textile mat as well but this is more for changing the “feel” of the vault than actual function. Worth the $200 for me.

Congrats on your new CT!
Here is a pic of my CT vault. Even though I live in a city. I still get to do various truck stuff.

The newest addition is the molle panels on the walls. I'm undecided what tools or kits will be strapped there long term. Maybe a tire repair kit, small air compressor, first aid kit or mini back packs with additional straps, tie downs etc. I'm using Velcro straps to attach stuff as needed to the molle panels.

You can find a lot of anchor solutions for your L track system on Amazon. I paid about $20 for a dozen of those round metal rings which supposedly hold 4K lb each. They move around easily. The L track is awesome and this is the first truck I've owned with it.

Then you can see the bed divider. I love this too. Currently its set far back but usually I keep it just past the smugglers bay so I stil have access to lift the secret door and can get in there. The divider has a quick release lever to unlatch it and easily moves forward, backward or comes out completely. This is extremely helpful to control items stored in the vault like luggage etc.

The bed matt you ordered is a must. I have a version of that too. The rubberized material is grippy and eliminates the sliding around of most items. I purchased a similar matt for the little floor space between the front seats. That's a great space but its slick like an ice rink. The rubber matt makes this interior space where gas cars have a giant hump totally usable.

Finally you can see the 2 round square thingy's. Those are the jump seats from Tesla. There are several negative reviews about these. Bunch of haters I guess, I think they are great. I bought them for $100 each. I won't be buying the tie down system for the tailgate. They work fine just as seats for either the frunk or tailgate or placed anywhere. For storing I can strap the seats to the L track or molle panels so they stay out of the way. The seats are lightweight too and seem super durable. They're comfortable and match everything great.

I also have the Tesmanian mats. The ONE thing I don't like about the Tesmanian bed liner mat is the horizontal bump near the tailgate and after the sub-trunk. It's a pain when you put boxes in the bed and want to push them deeper. They end up hitting the bumps.

If I were to buy it again, I'd go with a different brand that doesn't have that bump.

EDIT: BeFamouseVideo's pic of his bed liner above shows the horizontal bumps really well.

Good to know you can use those jumpseats without having to attach them to the bike carrier / tailgate protector. I was wondering about that.

I'm wondering if getting something similar from REI would be a cheaper alternative.

Not necessary, depends on your use. I have a rubbery one, I think I ended up going with tripleA liners.
- prevents sliding of cargo
- can dump heavy/sharp objects on it without worry
- peace of mind for not damaging bed, or spilling nasty stuff on it

I sleep in the bed when camping though, so I don't want any scratches or nastiness that people who are just hauling stuff don't care about. I've also permanently damaged cars in places I wouldn't want to pay to repair, so it's nice knowing I can just pull this out whenever I want.

If some bleach leaked on your bed floor and made a white splotch, would you care?
