So with all the fun banter in this thread I’m confused. Trying to figure out straight answers from someone who actually uses this. You know what they say about opinions and how everyone has one.
I have a roof mounted digital rearview mirror I can use to see back so less worried about that other than FSD use.
Here are my actual questions.

FSD works with the tire mounted?
Tailgate opens completely with the tire swung to the side?
Trailer can be attached even when the tire is on the truck?
supercharging can happen without removing the tire or carrier assembly?
Is license plate visible? Easy enough to get an extra for the back of the wheel but nice to know if needed.
any other hiccups I may not be thinking of? Any regrets about buying this?
right. Im a truck driver and very aware but it's so minimal. All the equipment is rated at 10k lbs and 500lb tongue weight. Stabilizer bars are the best for any towing, just so you know.
Baloney. That thing cuts the towing capacity in at least half. Look at Tesla’s towing page - adding even five inches of leverage length to the end of the OEM receiver cuts both tongue weight and towing weight dramatically.

Agreed. I’d not be towing. Just using to for off-road spare carrying. The hitch extension would be nice for my hitch umbrella though.
maybe even a bike rack?

Not true. It just requires for the tailgate to be latched which can be done manually. Even with it down.
Incorrect. I reported this to the Sliver Spring service center when there yesterday because I carried some furniture last week for a couple hundred miles with the tailgate down and had no FSD. They told me it is impossible to use FSD with the rear camera obscured or the tailgate down. Besides, how would you latch the tailgate when it is down?

The bike rack loss of capacity was the first thing that got my attention o the capacity page. A normal trailer ball at 7.3 inches from the receiver has 1,100 pounds tongue weight capacity. A 4-bike rack extending a maximum of 30 inches from the receiver has only 220 pounds tongue weight capacity. Leverage matters, and this thing has a lot of that.

Well. With the tailgate down if you manually reach into the latches and engage them the truck registers as tailgate closed.
Trying to remember who first taught me that? @mongo maybe?
I’ll try find the thread.
Seriously though. It works.

Yah, though you are agreeing with the post you quoted. Might have meant to quote the post they were replying to?

Yes. Meant to quote this. As per your instructions (I think) many moons ago, I now know you can use FSD even with an extra long load and that sort of thing.
I’m almost positive there was a video of how to manipulate the latches but can’t find that thread with my Neanderthal search skills.

So it’s a non-sanctioned workaround circumventing Tesla’s FSD limitations. Not going to take THAT liability! But thanks for the info.

Supervised FSD. Subtle but important distinction. Think of it as a driving tool like cruise control.
