I put in a service request to have this done via mobile service after reading the original post here. They came to the house, did the swap and the replacement part threw up a few errors in the Cybertruck system. Turns out they have put a company wide hold on this replacement as the "fix" is causing more issues than it solves. The guy actually had to put the old one back and tell me to wait as Tesla Engineering was still working on the solution. Oh well.

Interesting. I wonder if the issue is software or hardware related...or both.

My data point. They accepted the appointment but ran a test and said the old/existing inductive wireless charger was behaving correctly. So they didn’t change it. I have July 2024 FS.

did the fix work?
The phone was still hot but nowhere near what it was on the old charger. It didn’t overheat and was on for over an hour. I didn’t see any improvement with speed of charging though.

Thank you for the update. On my truck it overheats within like 15 minutes. I had a loaner today, a cyber beast, vin 33k+, and I didn’t have the problem on the loaner.

The service center said they “couldn’t reproduce the problem” and that the part listed in this thread is not mentioned in their service notes as being a known fix for the overheating problem. They are willing to have a look at it again if I can give them a more reliable reproducible procedure. It seems like this part isn’t flagged to be a clear fix to the problem.

FWIW, mine is a 52xxx VIN (built Nov 2024) and the wireless charger overheats my iPhone pretty quickly.

So, here is my story. I submitted a case for my overheating issue , and asked for a fix. They scheduled it to be replaced tomorrow (this was about 3 weeks ago). Because I had seen many posts about having Mobile Service replace this, and I live 2 hours away from a SC, I asked for mobile. They kept denying it, and finally called me to say that the service note said it was not eligible for mobile due to the console having to be removed, and maybe early replacement was done mobile and they figured out it was a bad idea. No worries, I said I'd bring it in. So, after approving 0.00 estimate and getting ready for tomorrow's long drive, I get a text today from Tesla stating "Tesla Service: Hi , after a thorough review with our engineering team, we regret to inform you that we are unable to provide a repair for this particular issue at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and are here to assist with any future questions or concerns you may have". WTF? My only thought is they had a replacement part, and are having trouble (seeing some posts in the thread possibly indicating that). Just don't like the answer, sounds like a load of bullshit. Just say "hey, we had a new part, but now it's causing more issues that we didn't foresee. We'll put you on the list to address this as soon as we get it solved". Quite annoying.

All of the interior ones. I I wanted to be able to change the color to match the ambient lighting. The one I was speaking up specifically. You have to pull that panel off to get to the light. So that exposes the charger back where I may be able to put some heat sink.
