We can now change wheel / tire type in software menu - for proper range estimations and avatar!

When I ordered, I saw core wheels were included, cyber wheels were a $3,500 upgrade, and that Tesla offered the cyber wheel and winter tire package for $3,000. Save $500 and have 4 spares? That’s a no-brainer to me. I ordered with cores.

Up until now, I’ve been wondering how to “update” my truck to cyber wheels for proper range estimations and so the avatar looks correct. Tesla has finally unlocked the feature.

Additional note on this: changing this doesn’t (or hasn’t for me yet, anyway, but this change is only minutes old) change your “specs” in your Tesla account, so you still won’t be able to normally order the spare tire and tool kit or the cyber wheel covers. I got around that by asking my SC to order them for me and they had no problem with it after hearing my plan.

This is great news and my thoughts exactly. I’m using my Foundation Series $2500 PowerShare credit and a referral bonus to order the Winter tire package to go along my Core wheels. Excited!

Would be awesome if they can include the Winter Tire package as an option. I had those put on (bought through tesla shop and installed at service center) a while back and love the look of them. I'm sure it affects range a bit...
