The CT has weak spots- besides the suspension, it has zero flex and needs long travel. But awesome to see you guys pushing it to the limit!

The cybertruck does a great job on trails and obstacles. It is just bulky, heavy, and has a lot of power. Its being run almost stock on some of the hardest trails there are right now.
I think Jeeps and Land Rover have done this trail stock. And without constantly having to fix some rods?

Actually at least one Rivian has done it too. Stock. With reportedly no mechanical failures.

So this Cybertruck report is perhaps less than stellar?

Bullshit. I’ve been hanging with the rubicon directors for a day now. They had 2 trucks, helicopters and support team to charge them multiple times. 1 suv made it after lots of factory help. Where are the pics, videos?

We are doing this with no help and proving our kit on trail. We’ll have video up soon after we cross the line tomorrow.

and why are you hating on your fellow Cybertruck owner? Or you just want one?

I also had a Defender and yes would have done it too “stock” with sliders, bumpers, armor and 35’s. This trail is no fucking joke and if you think you can do it in your stock Defender, then STFU and get on trail. Haters gonna hate…

Roger is the real deal, he let's action speak louder than words....where as 80% on this forum is words louder than action....lol...Had the opportunity to chat one on one at Takerover, great guy. I'm jealous that my wife got to drive your Cybertruck back to Stockton lol.

If you want quality USA Cybertruck accessories, then look no further..you found him.

I can’t speak for Rivian. I have no in depth knowledge of their operation other than what was written and that apparently it made it through without mechanical failures (the other Rivian was support).

Sliders and larger tyres would be sufficiently ‘stock’ for a Defender in my view.

I just found myself a little let down by the mechanicals regularly failing on the Cybertruck here. Tesla hasn’t always had the best reputation on suspension parts and I know there was some early concerns about the Cybertruck in that regard, with it being a heavy beast. I’m allergic to hype so if there are weaknesses in the vehicle it’s better to openly outline those rather than paint it as some off-roading behemoth.

But it’s great someone is putting the Cybertruck through its paces. These are the types of threads I enjoy.

If you look at Rivian's info, they show they had an R1S on the trail for 12 of the 22 miles of the Rubicon. There were two R1T that were there as support vehicles but were replaced with a modified Jeep.

It's a tough trail! From what I know, most vehicles are pretty modified that run it, and body damage and broken parts are par for the course. Here's an R1T that ran it ended up with body damage from flex on it https://www.rivianforums.com/rubicon-trail-1-rexbo-r1t-0/

Before the Cybertruck launched, we had in our neighborhood a pre-release Cybertruck RC at an engineer's house that had all the dirt and marks of Tesla's testing. I have no doubt it went through thorough testing.

It's awesome that Roger ran the Rubicon and is out testing parts! Everything I've seen from them is very well engineered.

Day 4 update… we had to set at Rubicon Springs all day, waiting for the fairy godmother to come and give us some electricity to continue down the road, but we got to 86%.

day 5… we were off to a great start. We covered 4 miles in two hours and made it up Cadillac Hill at the top of Cadillac Hill. We lost the right rear driveshaft… we continue to limp along getting tugged by our Rubicon and winching until the front steering rack said no more and broke the tabs off… we were one corner from the lookout. So close, but the truck is resting tied up to a tree on a hill off the side of the trail.

Special thanks to our friend Teslatino and Nancy for being our home base guy picking up parts and sending them in with other rigs. Nicest people you will ever meet, Cybertruck to the core, if you don’t follow him on YouTube and X you should.

These rear toe links… just completely bent the passenger side on ours in Moab this afternoon. I really should’ve turned off rear steer. With steer by wire, there’s no direct connection between the steering wheel and the wheels, so when the steering rack started freaking out, I couldn’t feel a thing.
