I want to buy this, badly, but I’m going to try a wait-and-see strategy because I’ve learned the hard/expensive way that being a early adopter isn’t necessarily the best strategy, particularly when it comes to the CT.

Yeah. I think Tesla deliberately under produces their accessories so we have to choose between "wait until they get the kinks worked out" or "hurry up and order before they sell out." Makes good business sense, really - no one wants old inventory lying around. I think the risk is pretty low, though, on this item so I went for it (also this was one of the accessories I have been waiting for so I was on a hair trigger).

I agree with you on all points. It’s the sliders that I want most I like the look of these I also really want the ones from UP but it’s now been well over a year and I still don’t have my invincible carbon fiber frunk overlay (w/lightbar) and I’ve heard nothing from them for months.

Being a bleeding edge early adapter used to always feel like being a pioneer or insider. Now, in many cases, it’s starting to feel like being leveraged or fleeced to me.

Seeing them run out of stock immediately, this time, made me feel even better about keeping my powder dry.

I am looking forward to seeing everybody’s reviews, though!

My truck got dropped off this morning. Confirmed all the parts were in stock and said it should be ready in a day or two.

Did they offer you a loaner? Mine is set to drop off at 10:00 tomorrow and scheduled to be done by 2:45 tomorrow. They did not offer me a loaner but if they are actually goin to keep it more than a few hours I will need one.

They just bumped my appointment to next week because the parts are in transit. I think they are now going to offer up a loaner.

With how often my truck has been in the service center I am on a first name basis with most of them. So I asked with a smile if they had a loaner I could use and they obliged. The appointment said it wasn’t eligible for a loaner for what that is worth.

My CyberBeast goes in for serice Thursday and I tried to add this (it is OUT OF STOCK now on the app). Unfortunately they haven't received any and don't expect to get any, so the only way to get this is order via the app.

I was also concerned about the additional weight (194 lbs) but considering that a 20 gall fill up of gasoline in an ICE car weights about 124 lbs I think the mileage hit will be negligible.

I think these are probably great for 95% of the consumers out there. And the price is pretty cheap too in my opinion.

Are they heavy duty? I would say no, Not because I sell a competing product, but because I saw them first hand. They are thin gauge steel that bolt on the top of the sil using M6 bolts. The underbody is a laminated aluminum panel. The top edge of the slider is not wide enough to stand on.

Here are some pictures after one obstacle damage on the OEM sliders, mine look about the same after running the entire Rubicon and using them to pivot around rocks.

but, again I do think it’s a good product for some people.

If all you want is the sliders, I’ve got a stainless steel ones and the heavy duty ones both in stock that will both do better than the OEM ones
