I've just gotten used to pressing the FSD engage button, then immediately do a windshield wipe, and scroll left wheel down to off
Mine is different, mine will do it randomly even after an hour of driving.

oh yeah, mine does too - but in order to prevent it, every time I engage FSD I just do what I mentioned.

"Unreal Engine is a 3D computer graphics game engine that was developed by Epic Games, the developer of the popular third-party shooter game Fortnite. It was first released back in 1998, and the most recent version is Unreal Engine 5. The sixth version is in development, and it could be out in 2027 or 2028.

However, Tesla could use it for a more realistic representation of vehicle surroundings. It would undoubtedly improve driver visualization, creating a smoother and freer-flowing depiction of what is outside of the car."

Definitely unnecessary and over kill for such limited onboard GPU and CPU resources. I rather they focus on refine what they have now and fix vital stuff such as Maps.

Well, I don't disagree that running visualization that exactly replicates the CyberTruck driving environment requires CPU resources. Today, I watched carefully to second guess myself on whether the visualizations being reproduced are vastly improved and I'm satisfied I'm correct. Grey Blobs shaped like cars & trucks are improved to details that i can spot the SUV vs Sedan on screen compared to the environment around me. Roof lines match the car passing me and the Grey Blob has become a detailed Grey Vehicle. Road markings are brilliantly colored and roadway features very defined from shoulder of highway. Remarkable improvement from the visualization on screen when I took delivery in April 2024. My CyberTruck looks very detailed going down the road with graphics and shading that recreates the glass roof. Little things that tell me big improvements are being made.

I watched a interview with Elon several months ago discussing how Tesla could recreate the road environment precisely with the FSD system including car makes, color, etc.. However, that would suck resources needed for braking, turning, object avoidance, as you describe. I guess after a year of development and possibly a much more efficiently optimized FSD 14 the Tesla engineers feel that a "video game" driving environment simulation is possible? I'm excited to find out! 😃

Oh I don't disagree - I'd love to see this and have this to show for would be buyers! I think it would be next level! I just think we are not there yet in mobile hardware to power it - without adversely affecting other things.

I'm just speculating, but, if the "nag" is not needed as often in FSD 14. Possibly it has been optimized to require less system resources to run it effectively. That would free those extra unused resources to run the upgraded graphics. Personally, I'm very impressed with what I already have onboard. But, no one was happier than me to watch Laura Croft's tits evolve from bouncing polygons in early 2000 to the magnificently quivering breasts of today. (Brought to you by UnReal Engine 5)😎

Ok I misunderstood. That stops it from phantom wiping again?

This is actually a must have for me.

I frequently use the on screen visualization to look around the Cybertruck. The vehicle is just one massive blind spot and I can actually look “around corners” at intersections.

What seems to work for me is to turn on FSD, then I immediately use voice command "turn wiper off". This makes it so you don't have to hit the wiper button (thus causing an initial unwanted wipe) just to touch the off option on the screen or scroll down to it to turn the wiper off. It also seems to stay off for the remainder of my drive. My windshield can get quite occluded with water from rain or road spray and it won't come on unless I tell it to or I push the wiper button. When I do this it still just wipes the windshield the one time and stays off. So at least for me, I just have to remember to voice "wiper off" when turning on FSD and I'm good.

Come on Tesla. How about a check box option for “turn wipers to auto with FSD activation”?
Hook an Arizona brother who barely ever sees rain up.

Pretty sure it is on auto wiper when you activate FSD, which is why if you don't select off it will still be able to do the annoying phantom wipe thing. So try activating FSD, then using voice commands to "turn off wiper". This should not only prevent the phantom wipe but also not make the wiper do an initial wipe like it would if you hit the wiper button on the steering wheel to be able to select or scroll to the off position.

A great article about the upcoming UnReal Engine being implemented on AI 4 system Teslas, including the CyberTruck. I will defer to the expert code warriors at "Not A Tesla App" that it will indeed be coming to CyberTruck. After reading this article I'm very excited to have even more "Techno-BandWagon" sweetness in 007's cabin. Read the article. It will answer alot of the questions abut UnReal Engine being implemented in CyberTruck that have been raised in this thread.

"Tesla likely doesn’t want to visualize all data, but the pieces that may be important to the user, such as potholes, road debris, road signs, and more. In fact, there’s a whole list of potential objects that could be added to visualizations that would improve the experience, including guard rails, strollers, shopping carts, trailers, gates, more detailed crosswalks, and potentially other items such as trees or sidewalks.

In fact, Tesla has already said that they will soon display proper visualizations for trailers, and they may even start displaying Cybertrucks on the display. We suspect Tesla is working on adding these to Unreal."

"The new Unreal Engine binaries were found in firmware 2025.20 and newer, but only on the AMD-based Model S and Model X, which also include a discrete GPU. However, we don’t expect that to be a requirement for these visualizations."

The one time I've been at a stoplight next to another Cybertruck, I looked at the visualization thinking if there's one vehicle it should identify it should be this one. No dice.

If my three year old can pick out a Cybertruck, a Cybertruck should too!

Agreed. Haha, my CyberTruck is pretty freak'n Awesome on-screen now. Matches my CyberTruck wallpaper in color and graphics. After reading the article, I now have confirmed it isn't my imagination, it has been getting better and better in detail down to the shading of the glass roof. Now the question is what type of objects do you want rendered in color/detail? All cars? Just Teslas? School Bus? The entire environment around you including grass, trees and buildings?? UnReal Engine can do it all for the price of processor resources.
