Recommend me a car escape tool. What are the options?

good thinking.
I could try rig something where it mounts to the outer drivers side wall of my little center console fridge.
It kind of looks like that blade can fold in but I’m not sure about that and that’s a make or break point for me. Don’t want that open blade next to me.
Basically it would be by my right knee with some mechanics gloves in the door storage.

BRB is no doubt a slicker solution. Suggest the leather glove idea be applied to any and all plans though. The ability to punch, grab, pull etc could mean the difference between success and failure in this situation.

Seems like false hope to have people buy tools that are very likely useless, especially while upside down and concussed.

I’m not quite sure anyone is being sold false hope and any hypothetical situation that any of us can come up with, is just that… hypothetical. We can all come up with reasons to have something or or not and as always, it’s individual choices based on our personal level of experience and viewpoint. The OP asked a question and he now has information to hopefully be able to make an informed choice.

For me, I lose nothing by having it and based on my experiences, I’m better off having it than not. In an extreme situation where my tool of choice is unavailable or fails to accomplish the task at hand, I always appendix carry (along with a Q-Mat) and I’m almost certain that that will begin the solve of the situation. The next question is round selection as all of my tests/experiences have been on everyday laminated windshields of various degrees but that’s a different thread.

That punch tool will not shatter your glass.

This has been thoroughly discussed on the forum, and at this point I'm very concerned that the average person isn't even remotely prepared for such a scenario.

I think the better question is, what tool would a child be able to use to get out? As a father, I may be dazed and confused in that situation, but would expect my 12 year old to be able to get out. So my proposal to Elon, instead of the amazingly cool flamethrowers and levitating Cybertrucks, he flips the script and gets us a tool that we know would 100% work in life threatening situations.

Just an idea, that's all..

Maybe they should have built the glass roof like a bus window that can be kicked out with enough force. Its a huge opening.

I like that! It likely has the required utility for its intended purpose. The CT door wells are pretty deep, so it would likely fit?

I do like the BRB’s foam cutout. It fits neatly in its little home…

But if I didn’t already have a BRB I might buy that Ajax Rescue Tool. Looks very capable!
