can you install a wall charger at the hunting property? then you wont have a problem, youll always have a full tank of electrons

for the trailer issue, Lightship and Pebble are warp speeding trailer tech - both are powered assist so that the towing vehicle (diesel, gas, or ev) effectively pulls a trailer that weighs 0 lbs.

the Pebble is basically a 25’ long RC car - it can hook itself up autonomously to any trailer ball. You can also “drive it” into a parking spot unhitched using an ipad.

its a brave new world, brotha
no worries about charging at the property. We have 15-40 there. It is a matter of getting one-way on a full charge without stopping with a utility trailer...a trailer that I already own. It's something I stated before. If the CT met it's range spec from launch day, then my specific trip is an easy haul with trailer. The range is drastically short of the launch spec. It would take a 50% boost in range to get to launch spec. I'd settle for 30% and I think it could do the one task that I feel the current model can't do conveniently. With all that, I'm still greatly excited to take possession of the CT tomorrow. I'm just trying to offer a POV that is widely held. If the CT did have that 500 mile range (heck anywhere above 400), then it would be selling more trucks. I've held my reservation for 5 years. I was invited to get a foundation truck. I held back because of lowered range even though I'm a huge advocate of the functionality and tech for the CT.

For range, I think the reduction in range by Tesla was because they didn't want to usurp the rest of their more profitable lineup. If the CT did come out at start of production with 500 mile range, how many people would forego the model Y or model 3 if they could afford it to get the CT, even though they don't have much use case for a truck? I'm thinking a ton of people. Once battery density gets higher, I'm hoping the entire fleet will get more range, including the CT. If/when that happens, there will be less and less use cases where ICE vehicle has an advantage.

Back on track, any particular mods or accessories you have found you can't believe not everyone has?

dont forget that you’re now driving with outlets all over the place so you dont need a wireless or 12v lighter plug for your compressor! an offroading thread recommended this compressor:

https://a.co/d/0meBgxU

along with a bunch of other things for 4 tire simultaneous air up/down
Thank you for the link. I might go this route, especially if I can mount it so that I don't have to try to dig it out of the smugglers bay to use it.

I'm being very particular for a couple of reasons. I mounted an ARB Twin compressor under the bed of my current truck, ran the power, ran the hose to the rear bumper, etc. I have a quick disconnect installed just to the left of my rear license plate. The switch to turn on the compressor is in the cab. I use this at least a few times on most trips to the hunting property. With an accessible hose, I can air up anything, and I have used this accessory a ton. I can't tell you how convenient it is, and my buddies have even begged me to put one in on their trucks. My tires, trailer tires, side by side tires, etc., buddy's trailer tires, side-by-sides, all have seen use from this thing. You name something that needs air, and I've done it many times with this setup.

"why not just put something down in the smugglers bay and pull it out when you need it?" one might ask

I most often use my air compressor on road trips or upon arrival at the hunting lease. I often have 1000+ lbs of feed in the bed of the truck during these air-up events. If I had to pull everything out of the bed to dig in to the smugglers bay to pull out the compressor and hose, the utility is probably lost for me. To me, the smugglers bay is primarily for items that you need, but rarely use, like emergency tire repair, mobile connector or the adapters, etc. If I didn't often have payload in the bed, this would be a different story.

I might change my mind, but if I could mount this up and out of the way of the bed but still back there somewhere, it would be the best case for me. I've been thinking of a 120 V compressor as an option, I just haven't seen a capable (high flow) compressor that appears to be readily mounted to a wall (in my case, a molle panel). I have a similar compressor in the understorage of my ranger. Since that one is of similar style (although 12 volt), I will tinker with how I might mount it in the CT vault.

From what pressure to what pressure? If it will do from very low to 60psi, then that is the ticket.
I've been using the TC-BL for over a year and it has several advantages over the Fanttik including never running out of battery (it plugs into the 120V outlet in the bed of the Cybertruck) and being able to fill all four tires simultaneously from 30 psi to 50 psi in about 4 minutes without breaking a sweat (using a 4 into one hose). The Fanttik is not going to come close to that speed. It will also kick-butt on the twin ARB compressor.

Amazon.com: TC·BL Portable Air Compressor 110V,Ultra Quiet Air Compressor Oil Free and Lightweight Small Air Pump : Tools & Home Improvement

It's not lightweight like it says in the title, it weighs a little over twice as much as the Fanttik. I use it for airing back up after off-roading.

It's about the same size as one I have for the Polaris, so I'll see if there if I can come up with a mounting option for it. Thank you for posting.

There is plenty of room to hardwire it under the truck bed. If you want to do that, I would probably design an air intake for it that could better filter dust out without restriction and mount an air hose quick disconnect in the area by the tow hitch receiver. I think you would have to separate the control electronics from the compressor so you could mount those in an accessible area. It would be easier to just build an aluminum mounting bracket that clipped into the existing cargo rails in the bed of the Cybertruck

Making or buying a mounting bracket are my thoughts. I am wanting to take advantage of the extra height the vault has along the sail panels. I already see myself buying the molle panels. Thinking about things like hanging ratchet straps, a compressor and hose, and other things I use often enough to want them accessible up top. Smugglers bay would be for things like 4 way monkey wrench, bottle jacks, etc. that I never want to have to use, but will be glad to have on hand in a pinch.

the urander camper cap uses the thickness of the bed sidewalls to create a storage bin accessible from outside the bed and inside the bed. not sure if its wide enough to mount the compressor to though:

and im assuming you know about accessories like this:

seems like it could save you a lot of time to use!

That's just a cheaper copy of the Morrflate hose system. The Rhino uses a cheaper slide valve and cheaper air chucks (and who knows what else).

I've been a big proponent that the CT needs a 30% increase in kWhr to be ideal for my use cases. I've been wanting to hold out a couple years in hopes of some improvements on that end plus minor updates, but the ending of the EV tax credit coupled with a ton of incentives offered by Tesla and a nice trade-in for my 2024 Model 3 LR AWD finally set the hook. I ordered on Saturday and I'm taking delivery of an in-stock AWD CT on Friday. With the current battery, the main thing it won't do is get me from the house to the hunting property with a trailer (180 miles and nothing conveniently located in between for charging). Even with that, all the financial incentives stacked up made it too enticing. 1k loyalty incentive, free FSD transfer, 1 yr premium connectivity, 1 yr free supercharging, EV tax credit, 0% financing, and an aggressive trade-in offer made it to where I really wasn't taking much of a hit to make the move.

I really like the model 3, but the trade in offer was good, so I'm keeping my Diesel Ram 2500 Mega Cab and becoming a 2 truck household. The Ram will hedge bets on tasks where the CT will make it inconvenient due to lack of towing range or a smaller cabin.

I'll be taking the CT on an immediate road trip with some friends. I'll get to learn its consumption for how I drive and learn the nuances of FSD in the CT until v14 gets here. I have a few minor upgrades I'd like to do to the CT, but nothing big. If anyone knows of a capable air compressor setup attached to the molle panels on the inside of the bed, let me know. I want to do the Twin ARB compressor and bring the rooftop 48V to the bed, but the limit is ~500 watts and the ARB pulls 600W.
By far the best vehicle I have ever had...maybe the best purchase I have even made.
