I’ve owned a Cybertruck for half a year and have been troubled by 3 issues: difficulty getting in/out, easy slipping on rainy days, and easy scratches on the side skirt. These troubles finally disappeared after installing Tesstudio running boards! Today, I’ll share the details on the forum to help fellow owners with the same problems~

1. Solving "Difficult In/Out": From "Hurdling" to "One-Step Access"
Before installing the running boards, my elderly family members had to hold the door first and then take a big step to get in the car, and I even had to carry my kid up. After installing Tesstudio running boards (12cm wide), stepping on them is very stable. The elderly can get in easily without support, and the kid can climb up by himself. Finally, I don’t have to be in a hurry when taking my family out on weekends.

2. Anti-Slip on Rainy Days: ABS Anti-Slip Pad Is More Reliable Than Expected
It rained continuously last week, so I specially tested the anti-slip effect: the ABS anti-slip pad on the pedal surface has raised lines. Even if it’s wet with rain, my feet didn’t slip when stepping on it. Compared with a colleague’s metal running boards of another brand (he almost slipped on rainy days), Tesstudio really paid attention to this detail.

3. Protecting the Car Body: No More Worry About Side Skirt Scratches
Earlier, in the community parking lot, the adjacent car door opened too hard and scratched my car’s side skirt, leaving a mark that made me feel bad for a long time. After installing the running boards, a similar situation happened last week—but this time, it scratched the running board. After wiping, there was no trace, and the car body was intact. It’s like adding a "protective shield" to the side skirt, which is super practical!

Honest Note: Small Details to Pay Attention To

During installation, although no-drilling is convenient, you need to be patient when aligning the original car holes. It’s recommended to have two people cooperate (one holds the bracket, the other fixes the screws) to improve efficiency. In addition, the pedal edge has a rounded design, so you don’t have to worry about scratching your pants—this is more considerate than pedals with right-angle edges.
Have any fellow owners encountered these car usage problems? Or used running boards of other brands? Welcome to share your experience below, and let’s make Cybertruck more practical together!

Congrats!

I just installed the T-Sportline AeroMaxx running boards on my Cybertruck, for the similar reasons that you mentioned.

The AeroMaxx running boards matched the OEM look. The installation was pretty straight forward. I love them so far.

Oh man, not for me! These would anchor me into the snowpack in many situations and reduce ground clearance significantly. You can see how they will function as snow anchors at this timestamp:

Yes, I know the side rails taper up from the flat bottom but I have found the most common place I run out of clearance is on the very edges, right under those black kick-panels

Plus, "light is right". 66 lbs. might not sound like much but it reduces payload capacity by over 2.6%! Worse aero too. I would rather use "Easy Entry" if I needed help with ingress/egress.

There's this amazing Cyberstruck suspension setting called Entry Mode. It's free and does not dirty your pants or get in the way of entry. It also does not reduce range, add weight, or get dirty. Did I mention it's free? Sheesh.

Even though CT has entry mode for easier entry, my kids had to struggle to get in/out of CT.
And it is much convenient for me as well.
Running boards definitely provide easier access.

How tall are you? My 5’1” wife always preferred deploying running boards on our big American pickups, but really likes the kneeling functionality of the CT, can sit down when entering, no climb-up. She combines Entry level suspension setting with the Easy Entry functionality and sets that mode’s seat height to the lowest setting, which gives her the sit-down seat level. A lot of owners apparently aren’t aware of both functions working together, so still climb into the seat.

I've had these running boards on my truck since late last year, I highly recommend them. Even on Easy Entry, it's a lot easier to get in and out, especially for my 9yo daughter. Installed them myself in about an hour, and they're extremely strong.
