Did you pull off the upper trim plastic to see if they soldered the connection up top?

Have you read my install article or watched my video?

I just watched it - thanks for that. It seems they left my kit in the same state as yours, except I didn’t get one of those interconnect kits. May have to go back and hold their feet to the fire to do the interconnect or complete it on my own.

Did you check under the top trim first (it pops off by hand)? The dust on the grommet makes me think the new harness may be in place and tucked up in the top of the B pillar out of sight.

Sorry this happened to you. My experience was 180° out from yours. My service center guys were incredibly gracious and excited about putting on the light bar. In fact they may have been more excited than I was.

They went over and above and it wasn’t like mine was the first; they told me that mine was the sixth that they had installed.

Also, @Guylouis hack of just scheduling it with specific language worked right out of the gate for me.

The SC customer experience is so varied and this process has been so chaotic that it’s hard to believe that anyone’s actually in charge. Sad.

*I will also note; however, that when I had mine installed (some months ago) this new approach was brand new and admittedly my SC was not aware of it. I told them what I had read here I didn’t have the actual procedure but they didn’t argue with me, they executed a third option which I’ve talked about elsewhere and I’m not going to detail again here. Let’s just say, I was extremely happy with the result. Which is kind of where you want things to land from a customer service standpoint.

Hello guys... I just bought an aftermarket Lightbar from Teslarati.com ($339).. to find out my AWD 2025 does not come with pre-drilled acces in the roof applique !! So they advice to purchase from Tesla the 2 appliques with the little windos to acces(means extra $300 ), thats a No Go for me. DID anyone sorted out this issue? Detaching the applique in not big deal.. but still not hole to set the bragueta leggs to screw .. so how to ?Thanks !

I had mine installed in Mechanicsburg PA / Carlisle service center.
The service guys there are top notch and polite as ever.
When I set my appointment for the lightbar Installation (the first one they had ever done at this location) it was prior stated and shown in many YouTube videos and service documentation that the soldering within the roof glass area was done by the customer as a final installation step in order to “activate” the lightbar for operation. This was done by passing the heat shrink tubes and zip ties etc as part of a customer kit to the customer to solder & finalize this step at a later time.
However as the OP stated and as in my case as well, there is now a new R2 procedure where the delivery/service center does the soldering in the roof power outlet connection area, this harness also carries down to the RH B pillar location and the service center is to then remove the RH B pillar and disconnect that connector within the b pillar, which thereby disconnects the roof accessory power.
The customer then has to make that connection by plugging the harness behind the RH B pillar once home and also remove the lightbar light blocking security tape.
This also depends on the state it’s being installed in, I am guessing in other states they can actually complete the entire install, but for most others it has to be this way now based on the updated R2 service bulletins.
My guess is also that these procedures were modified as there were probably too many issues with customers not having soldering experience (not my problem as I am an electronics tech with decades of soldering and using heat shrink) and perhaps also not understanding basic electronic harness connections B+ grounds etc.

When I arrived home, I thought I had to perform the B pillar connection and removed the RH B pillar cover with the 10mm bolt only to find it was already connected!
I reassembled the cover and removed the tape from the lightbar and enabled the roof outlets in the gui, mine is now fully functioning for off-roading only in PA.

I have used it in my driveway for snow removal and also off road on a back logging road just to test the ditch lights etc, which can all be individually set as Off - Ditch Lights - Flood Lights - Both as All on or just flood under the light settings in the menu.
There is no current shortcut using scroll wheel or otherwise, other than the menu selection in menu as well as brightness levels.
EDIT: I tried posting this afternoon and photos would not attach.. had to wait until this evening and now voila it all the sudden works. SO Random

Tesla sells them as a kit with installation for $150.

Or Dremel it yourself.

thanks /s

just read the document and I think what happened was the soldering step was actually removed by the change in hardware. Now it appears it’s just a clip rather than soldering wires.
That said, the document still says that Tesla is not legally allowed to finish the entire installation. However now it seems much easier to do this at home rather than pay a 3rd party.

Hi, thank you so much for taking your time to answer..
Today , I took a look under the applique, and found the connection on top ready !! ... so I decided to go ahead and DIY ( Dremell the hell out of it ) .. it was good 4+ hours of work and improvisation .. but got the lightbar on my self, not problems and completely worth it !

I actually took several pictures of the process, with the intention to create a post here for future Cybr fans, that will get caught in this trick from sellers that won't dusclaim "For Cyberbeast version only" or "AWD needs extra $300 in 2 OEM appliques"..
So another day off, will do. Thanks again!
